Bought a USFS Christmas tree permit last week. I took Hank out today and used the tag to snag this bad boy. Lots of snow and hidden pot holes, but Hank eats them for breakfast. Good day.

good lookin truck. I got a soft spot for the velocity blue. wish I had more fs roads and fire roads near me.
Thank you, blue wasn't my first choice but it's really growing on me, especially with the chrome appearance pack. And this is one of the few places I know of here in CT, most are closed to anything motorized. I've been through here in a sedan so it's not very challenging, but still better than nothing.

Geeze Duke you might have to take out a HELOC with those prices. I filled up with 91 yesterday at Costco for $3.79 and thought I hit the lottery at that price. It's over $4.00 everywhere else.
4.499 for Costco 91 in Norcal

Drove it to Minnesota to do some snowshoeing but since there wasn't enough snow for that, took it on some forest service roads. On the 5 hour ride home I'm letting the man-child drive her for the first time - he wouldn't stop harassing me! Says it's much different than mom's Ridgeline. He won't stay out of the pedal lol.

Speaking of local gas pricing.....We are all being had folks! So at Costco in Arvada Colorado, which is a suburb city of Denver, 91 octane is @ $3.25/gal. Travel up the interstate 50 miles to my home in Windsor Colorado, which just happens to be in the most prolific FRAC oil producing county in the state and 91 octane @ our Costco is $3.45/gal.
Prices are all over the place now!

Just so you know this has flipped flopped in the last 6 months. Previously, gas was cheaper up north than down by Denver.....so weird!

Did a small drive for something..

But the "funny" thing was that I remote started the car and came to there 10-15 minutes later. Then I pressed the start button and the car vomited set of codes. Check 4x4, 4x4 malfunction, reserve maintenance, downhill assist failure, front collision detection failure, jada jada jada..

Drove off and the car was in limp mode. Stopped, turned off the car, walked around and restarted. And off it goes without any issues.

So I guess we're reaching the predicted technology level..

At a recent computer exposition, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated: “If General Motors had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.”

In response to Bill’s comments, GM issued a press release stating: “If General Motors had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

  1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.
  2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
  3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason, you would simply accept this.
  4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
  5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive – but would run on only five percent of the roads.
  6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single “General Protection Fault” warning light.
  7. The airbag system would ask “Are you sure?” before deploying.
  8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
  9. Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
  10. You’d have to press the “Start” button to turn the engine off.
P.S. It was bit over -20'C in here this morning.

It was yesterday but we went south of the border to MX. ????. We usually go once a year to walk around, eat and grab some meds as you don't need prescriptions for most things. Having asthma I can get my inhalers there very cheap and with Covid you can get hydroxychloroquine & Ivermectin over the counter.

I had a crown break off so I stopped into my dentist I see there and decided to get an implant. They did the extraction and the bone graft yesterday and in 4 months I go back for the implant. This little area is very safe, clean and is used by people all over the country and the world. Ranger drove great and even leveled with larger tires I averaged 25.3 mpg at 70 mph round trip.

Paul I use the Fuelly app, it calculates everything for you. You can even store all your service records and receipts in it too.
