JEEP apparently at one time meant Just Enough Essential Parts, owing to the initial simplicity of the vehicle.

Then of course the Just Empty Every Pocket due to the vast, maybe even unparalleled aftermarket.

Then Fiat took over and it became Just Expect Electrical Problems ?

Dennis, that is exactly the reason I bought an extended warranty. I knew with my luck if I didn't it would be a shit show, and if I did I would never use it. To date, since May '19 and 21K miles later there's been only one stupid happening. For some reason when you turn on the radio, at times there is no sound. Now the stupid part. All I have to do is set the radio to AM, and boom, the sound is back. Hasn't done that for over a year now, knock wood.

@AzScorpion Dave, if you get the heated seats/heated sterring wheel you wll be amazed at how much better they are than Fords. And, you'll wonder why Ford can't get an engine/transmisson duo to work as good together as Jeeps 8 spd, and any of their engines. Also, the Alpine system (if you get that) is better than anything Ford, and GM has ever had. I could put the Bose system in my Corvette, and that so called upgraded system in the wife's Mustang together and wouldn't get as good of sound as the Alpine.

Thanks Jim. I did already add all those options and I use my heated seats all the time here. I read where others said the Alpine was a really good system too. While I do think our 10 Spd is a good tranny it seems to be to many gears (9&10) most of the time. I know you can lock them out but I always forget until it starts lugging around town.

I’ve owned fords for the past 20 plus years. My Ranger will be the last ford I buy and probably the last new American car/truck I buy. It’s not because of quality issues but simply the shady business models of American car manufacturers catering to mega dealers and screwing small family dealerships and customers.

Oh yea because everyone knows the Japanese and Europeans are TOTALY ethical and up-front in EVERYTHING they do..Jeez.

Received my quote from Gupton in TN today. Msrp is $50,720, 5% below invoice $45,570 and if using their financing $45,090. This comes out to exactly the price I was going to pay for my Bronco so now it's decision time. ?

Dave, reading through the thread I had to chuckle. You know the meme of someone who orders a loaded high calorie pizza along with a Diet Coke. A person flies across the country to pick up a vehicle at 3 to 6 percent under invoice and then turns around and adds 10 to 20k in mods and tunes. Subtract the airfare, gas and time and the 3 to 6 percent savings shrinks. At the end of the day, it isn’t about money but the love of the process. You got a project and by golly it will get done !! Best of luck on your decision, my vote is still to hold out for what your really want.

Thanks Chris. I picked white for its ease of cleaning, you know how bad the dust is out here. My first choice would be the Snazzyberry Pearl like Joes but it's going to show every spec of dirt. With my OCD I don't want to be a slave to cleaning it.

I wouldn't blame you for going Wrangler. Truth is, the solid front & rear axles are just better off-road. More articulation. Granted, the Bronco will be better on road. . . .

Although I would argue that Ford does prioritize customer orders (I got my Ranger in 8 weeks exactly), the Bronco orders are way behind.

Having spent many miles in a JL Wrangler, I find the v6 a bit lazy and poky, but the Wrangler is tried and tested. Also, I'm sure prices will be better on a Wrangler.

Lol it is kind of funny now that you put it that way. The only reason I'm considering going to TN is my gf has a really good friend there who wants us to visit them. The mod money luckily has already been set aside which I'm sure isn't enough, it never is.

I just cant wait another 3 years for a Bronco while in the meantime those who didn't have a reservation will be driving one.

I've heard both pros/cons of the 3.6L and the 2.0 but I think I'm going to go with the 2.0 turbo. I was able to drive a 3.6 and it wasn't to bad and today I'm going to check one out that has the 2.0. Price was very close to what I was going to get my Bronco for to that helps too.

I didn't read the entire thread - did the OP ever perform a 'soft reset' (or any reset) on his Sync 3? Neighbor bought a new Jeep 4 door pickup with the convertible top, V6, loaded to the max - he's happy with it.

Tows his fishing boat at least once per week. He sold a completely worn out '70s Blazer and another worn out '90s Jeep Cherokee for the Jeep pickup - ex-biker(?) who sold his bikes long ago (witness protection program?!?!).

I like it well enough but wouldn't trade Lariat for one. I also own a 2020 Chrysler 300S 5.7 with the 506 watt, 9 speaker Alpine/Panasonic sound system. While it sounds good enough, I don't think it sounds better than the B&O system in the Lariat. SYNC3 has been trouble free, with only one 'soft reset'. Performed 3 'soft resets' on the UConnect before major system and map updates recently - UConnect now seems to be on par with SYNC3.

To be honest, I'd take a used JKU with the limited slip 3.73 rear axle over waiting on a bronco.

My younger brother drives a 2014 Unlimited with the 3.6L, 6-speed manual, limited slip 3.73 differential, 3 inch tera flex lift and 285/70r17 K02s and it is just such a fun vehicle. We did experience the death wobble, but it was only occurred after he damaged the sway bar end link while we were off-roading. His buddy gave him quick release end links and in usual 16 year old fashion the end links were left hanging after "quickly releasing" his sway bar...the 1.5 hr ride home on I-75 was exciting to say the least.

Some suspension components have taken a beating and the 3.6L is pretty slow on pavement, but the repairs are easy enough for the two of us to handle and the power train is running without issue. Cargo space is garbage, but its such a fun vehicle that short comings can be overlooked. The bronco probably gives the same experience, plus some speed, but I wouldn't wait for one.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I've bought a used vehicle in over 35 years. lol Plus with the high prices out there now I'd bet they're close in price with the 5% below invoice on the new one. Being a 4x4 I'd rather new for the warranty and I can use it for a business write off.
