So in Bronco speak yours will arrive 100 days after his?
With my luck his will be the last allocation of 2024 and mine won't come until 2025. ?

My Jeep experience is all older models.

But my sister-in-law drives 2.0T 4dr Willys and that powertrain seems stout.

BTW, four door Jeeps are an abomination, just like four door Broncos.
Last year one of my Ford dealerships had four brand new Gladiators on the lot. I asked my sales guy if they were going to start selling them. He said no, people bought those and didn’t know they didn’t have crap for towing capacity and traded them in on F1 50s. I haven’t researched that to see if that’s true but just a thought.

A huge plus for the Jeep, like a Toyota, is the extensive aftermarket at your disposal. Just going to Overland Expo East even the patches they had for sale either had a Jeep or Toyota(4runner)on them. I feel that the Bronco needs a few years, not just one, to really get things worked out. Not only is it a new/fresh model, but they are also swinging for the fence in competing with the Jeeps. And we have all seen how Ford can really shit the bed.

The towing capacity is the same as the Bronco, only 3500 pounds.

Nobody in their right mind buys a Jeep to tow with. Maybe a Gladiator with the max tow package, but Wranglers, nope.

The Willys is a decent trim for a mall crawler, a bit more offroad cred than a Sahara, and almost all the comfort stuff. Kinda like the Bronco Black Diamond.

Jeep’s 3.6L Pentastar engine is the main reason I didn’t even bother looking at the Gladiator before I bought my Ranger. Just not a fan of that engine, in any vehicle.

What didn't you like about it? I tried looking for info on the JL forum and of course didn't find much negative about the 3.6L. Only those debating between the 2.0L 4cyl turbo and this one. It seemed to drive and shift nice and smooth and seeing as I don't keep my vehicles all that long their 7/70K warrantee would cover any drivetrain issues.

Owning a 2 door Wrangler and learning to dislike it, I would definitely go with the 4 door.

Yeah, it doesn't look as "right" but the 2 door is a pretty useless vehicle for anything other than just driving around with the top off.

I would do the 3.6 over the 2.0 every day of the week.

I haven't researched it in a while but check to see if the 3.6 casting sand is still an issue. It was in my 2017.

The rear cargo in the 2dr is really small and looks smaller than the Bronco 2dr.

Most people that wheel the 2 door models remove the rear seat permanently as there is very little room with the seat installed. If you plan on having more than one passenger, buy the 4 door. I carry a bag of tools and survival gear, a bag of recovery gear, another bag of straps, etc, and a air pump. There is not enough room in the 2 door with the seat installed. Throw in a cool box for drinks, spare boots, coats, a chair and such and if your don't pull the rear seat, you better haul a trailer. LOL

Is anyone familiar with both the engine options which are the 2.0L 4cyl turbo or the 3.6L V6 e Torque? Thoughts? I'm leaning more towards the 3.6L V6 which I though drove good and it's been around a lot longer and in many of their models. Anything else I should be looking at or adding?

The 3.6L Pentastar has been used in the Wranglers since 2012 (and many other models before that). It has proven to be a great engine. (There was a problem in some Pentastars in 2012 which was corrected under warranty). I am not familiar with the turbo but I would go with the gas model.

Thanks Dennis! You're right the 2dr is useless for anything but driving around topless and wheeling it but that's kind of what I'm buying it for. :) As long as I have my Ranger I'm covered for the extra needed room. I'll have to look into the casting sand issue but I didn't see anything recent on the JL forums about it.

Nice avatar Kent! lol ?

You're not kidding the rear cargo space is very small in the 2dr! The one we looked at had the seat folded forward which helps but you're right I would probably just pull it out if we're going on a trip with it. Plus it might keep my gf from packing all those un-necessary cloths she brings and never wears. lol I'm still going to give the 4dr some thought but cant see spending the extra money unless it'll help with resale later down the road.

From what I've read I'd most likely go with the 3.6l V6. Someone asked that question on the JL forum and it turned into a huge long dragged out discussion about which ones better and why. Kind of like stuff on here.

The Willys with the Xtreme Recon package is pretty much like ordering a base Bronco with the Sasquatch. You don't get all the interior goodies Rubicon has but a bunch of the off-road gear without spending Rubicon $.

Vehicles I’ve driven with it just didn’t impress me much. The engine reminds me of Toyota’s 4.0L, a reputation for being reliable but dated and kind of thirsty for what it puts out. Also, while shopping used Jeeps for my daughter a while back I found a lot of them with engines replaced at around the 60k mile mark.

A lot of people like the 3.6L but I’m not a fan. Loved Jeep’s 4.0L inline 6 though.

Not sure what they tow without it. But with the Max tow package they tow about the same as a Ranger.

Perhaps your salesman was talking out of their ass? It's easy to spot when a car salesman does this. Their lips are moving.

Nice. Thanks for a better explanation of the trim.
