What did you do to your Ranger today?

Loading her up right now to take her to my brother-in-law's place. Better shop, tools, and he's more experienced than I.

We'll be doing a Fox coilover install up front, and the global leafs with Fox shock install in the rears.

Definitely planning on removing the axle nut. But I've heard that disconnecting the LCA at the subframe is any easy method as well. We'll figure out how we want to tackle it soon.

LCA is the way I did it. Just connect a strap between the two LCAs across underneath the car. Do not make it too tight, a little play is needed. Otherwise the risk of pulling a shaft is equal to disconnecting the UCA. I hope you have a good breaker bar, or a long pipe. I did not disconnect the shafts.

With a tear in my eye (Wish the Tremor/Ranger raptor wheels came with less positive offset) i took off my tremor wheels and replaced them with RTR tech 6 wheels (17x9, +30) with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/17

Absolutely love the look of this, and stop n go feels pretty much the same. Nitto lists these as 57lbs on their website but FEDEX listed them as 54lbs. So not that much of an increase over stock grabbers, and the wheels weigh slightly less.

What did you need to do to get them to fit (if anything)?

All done. Took about 6 hrs total, taking our time and thinking things through. A couple of quick test drives, one after the front was done and one after rear, revealed no problems, cluncks, or vibrations.

We considered the LCA method, but the BIL preferred not to mess around with the alignment bolts. Following his advice we just popped the axle out of the hub to avoid CV separation. Everything went smooth.

The truck sits almost perfect now. The global rear springs restored just enough rake after the Fox kit took it out. Of course, it'll settle some, but I think I chose correctly.

Havent taken it off road on trails, but on some bumpy dirt roads no rubbing on the front wheel air damn or fender liners. Its like 2 fingers away from the plastic air damn at full lock, and decent space to the remainder of the crash bars, but a lot closer than i thought.

Gotcha. Guessing the aftermarket low profile intrusion bars would work fine. I like the idea of moving up to this size when I eventually wear out the OEM tires.

I did do a fairly aggressive bit of off-roading yesterday on stock Tremor and found it to perform really well. To be honest, slightly bigger tires probably wouldn’t have made that big of a difference but the bigger tires just look so much better.

Glad you worked it out. The LCA bolts will be messed with anyway, during the alignment process that you need to go through.

Made a mess, addressed a few rust areas with a brush wheel, painted with hammerite and then sprayed BLO mixed with hammerite and thinner all over the place, except exhaust and electrical items.

Also a picture of the new grille, finalized.

Yes they will. But not by me. Just didn't want to mark everything to try and get it close. My appointment for alignment is Tuesday morning.

Got back on stock tires and true OEM 18’ machined wheels, thought my lariat ones were the same… wow it really is much different when on the truck.. I LOVE IT!! Falken WildPeaks/Lariat wheels will go back on in November. Also cleaned the Falken tires/Lariat wheels to store away.

Changed the oil - 662 miles, and since the wheelwell flap was open installed the Mishimoto Catch Can. That thing is a pain in the arse if you have big hands. But got er done.

Had Bilstein 5100‘s installed in the front, set to the middle height adjustment (1.2“ I think). It’s the perfect height for my tastes and the ride improvement is excellent. While the rears made a huge difference, the fronts are well worth the upgrade. i Like this height because the stock tire size still looks ok. The truck rides amazing! Very happy.
