Unrelated, but I have a sourpuss story:

A few years ago I lived in a nice suburb community where the houses were set as close together as setbacks would allow (House set 5' from property line, so the houses are 10' apart), HOA, you get the idea.

Anyhow, you had 2 sections of lawn in front of your house. One on each side of the driveway. The larger section was shared with the larger section of the one neighbor, and the smaller section shared with the smaller section of the neighbor on the other side.

The larger section of yard was about 300sf, and the smaller section was about 50sf. It took all of 5 minutes to mow both sides.

I always hated seeing 100sf of grass with a dividing line showing where 1 neighbor had mowed and the other didn't, so I would mow the entire 100sf instead of just my 50sf.

One day as I'm mowing, my neighbor comes out and says "you don't have to do that." I responded that I knew, but I didn't mind, it only takes an extra 30 seconds or so. He came back with "You dont understand, DO NOT CUT MY GRASS AGAIN." He then proceeded to show me where the dividing line was between our properties.

What was really ironic is that my mower was set higher than where his grass currently was, so I actually didn't cut anything.

I was happy to move out of the HOA and away from that neighbor.

I live in a large metropolitan area. And drive around neighborhoods 5 hrs a night 5 days a week.

I see a handful a week.

Fairly rare still.

There are several businesses that use Rangers here, so I’ll see them regularly. I also have a coworker with a Ranger. But as for Stranger-Rangers- I see about 3 a day. It’s getting popular, but Hilo is still Taco-country.

Funny story, my Ranger is unique, blackout package with black wheels removed and chrome Lariat wheels put in their place (I am disco like that... lol) and a Leer shell with surfing stickers on the back. So I am five miles from home visiting my daughter, looking out the window and I see my truck drive by ?.
Thinking a 911 call is my next step I realize it is an exact clone similar stickers on the back too !! The dude pulls up to my truck and we just look at each other, I say “hey bro nice ride I like your style”. He just laughs and tells me he has seen my truck around the neighborhood and liked it so much he got the Lariat version and put on the same exact shell. Too funny, confuses all the neighbors.

I saw very few Rangers here in Orlando area when I bought my truck last year, and that was kinda cool (but also a bit surprising). Now I am seeing 3-4 daily, and that's cool too.

I am seeing them regularly here in the north ATL area. I was stopped at a red light the other day and there was one in front of and behind me. Also, on my six mile round trip to Home Depot the other day I saw four. They’ve been building Colorados and Tacos a lot longer, so it will take some time to catch up.

Driving around northern Delaware and southern PA, I am seeing several Rangers per trip now, which is encouraging but still cannot compare with all the F150s and even, gasp, tacos that are out there!

I have been on two trips this summer from my home in MD to WV and to the OBX in NC. On both trips I was surprised at how few Rangers I saw on the road.
WV is definitely Tacoma and Subaru country. You see plenty of other half ton and HD trucks but the mid sized market out there is dominated by Tacos.
The trip down I-95 to NC is a grab bag. You see everything under the sun but very few Rangers.
I agree with what y'all have said, the short life span and lack of production are limiting how many Rangers you see on the road.
As far as Tacos, those things have been around for so long that they are bound to be everywhere. Also, they were the only midsize available for a while and most people only ever consider the Tacoma when they think of a midsize truck.
