Are you using Regular (87) or Premium (91-93)?

93 Top Tier

The turbo and premium is recommended, not required, but recommended in the manual for optimum engine performance.

93 here. Noticeable performance improvement. No apparent impact in MPG.

I voted for "Sandwiches". What kind of fuel is that?

Where I'm at Premium is mostly $.90 higher in price, and the wonderful Governor of MI is proposing a $.45 increase per gallon, so it's not looking like I'll be running premium in this vehicle, at least not for the daily commute.

I ran premium in my Focus ST for 100K miles, but even that got better MPG than the truck.

89 or 92 Top Tier. Both seem to work well, Costco only has 87 or 92 so I just go with the 92. Engine seems to run smoother with higher octane and have a little more power at lower rpms.

I'm curious to see what happens here. My focus ST didn't like Costco gas, and I ended up getting endless CEL's from carbon build up, till I stopped using it.

My 3.5 Exploer could care less, but no turbo involved there.

That doesn't sound good, I thought Costco gas was supposed to be good? I know it is Top Tier. The other gas I have had good luck with is Chevron. What did you end up using?

I have a co-worker with a Focus ST and he had been having issues until he switched to a premium fuel (I mean brand-name vs off-brand, not octane rating). He always uses 93 octane but when he started filling up at the "premium" gas station he noticed an immediate performance improvement. He's got a lot of miles on his ST (upwards of 60k iirc) and had been having rough idle issues until he switched to a fuel with more detergents in it.

I stick to 76 (phillps66 or conoco other places) here mostly now. Or I'll 'do Shell, Mobil or Chevron. What ever is the cheapest. I just put regular in it...thank god!

My non Ecoboost cars is Costco or Arco

Running regular for now, but I'll probably switch to premium after the 1st oil change. First choice for gas is Sunoco, then Exxon, Shell if 1 or 2 is not a reasonable option

That's my plans once my new work van arrives I'll start filling up w/93 every time. Just too expensive to do it right now as my DD Work truck
