Never did care for sunroofs. Had one on my 1995 Honda Prelude. Never used it. Also as others have said, it is frustrating that that make it part of a package.

I had one in an 84 Toyota corolla that I drove 250K and used the hell out of. It never leaked. Had one in my 2009 outback and by then I never used, and opened only a few times, mostly by accident or to test. The outback would drip a little during carwashes but never during rain though it was mainly in the garage anyway. I have no use for one now. Please don't charge me for it in a package but if stand alone option for those who want it, fine.

I've had sunroofs on a Mazda, and a Jeep, never leaked, nor did the T-tops on my 1980 Firebird. They're great and most all sunroofs come with a sunshade.

Wow, sorry to hear about so many people having sunroof problems.
My wife's cars this century have all had sunroofs
2001 Olds Intrigue 160,000 miles no problems
2011 Chevy Malibu - 175,000 miles no problems
Current
2015 Subaru Forester - 135,000 no problems

If a sunroof would have been an option on the Ranger, I would have gotten a Ranger with it.

I thought about ordering a sunroof in my last F-150. But I knew I would probably use it twice, and forget about it after that. And as I understand if you don't use them that when the trouble starts. Kinda like the old saying, yeah.......:)

However, it is odd that Ford offers them in the maverick, but not the Ranger.

I love my '19 Ranger Lariat but it has no sunroof. I live in Florida where the weather is great and am constantly wishing I had a sunroof. My next vehicle, Ranger or not, will definitely have one.
Just saw the new Maverick and it will have that option. What's up with that?
Come on Ford make a sunroof standard on the Lariat or at least optional on the 2022 Ranger! Please!
I am also in Florida and would like one as well. Someone on here did add one and it came out really nice. Only 2 companies make all the sunroofs for every manufacturer so if you buy aftermarket it is the same as it would be from factory. I know people say they leak, but I have had 4 sunroofs put in on 4 different vehicles and have never had one leak.

Added complexity, weight where you don't want it, loss of headroom, there's literally nothing to gain from them.
Had one get dinged from a rock from a semi and it was fine for the next 10 seconds…. Then it shattered. I’m personally thankful I don’t have one now. Also very thankful I have a Ranger instead of my 17 Optima SX

I fear that the next gen ranger will make this non-optional in all higher trims. Which sucks, since I f'ing hate sunroofs. (I'd much rather have a couple more inches of headroom and not have a giant hole in the roof to accommodate a feature I will never use.) One more reason to just keep this truck forever. :turkey:

I've had sunroofs in countless vehicles over the years and never used them.

My 2018 Frontier Pro4X had a forced sunroof as part of a package. I think I opened it once.

My current Jeep is the only sunroof I've used with any frequency and I do use it often.

Don't miss it in the Ranger at all.

it's not at all odd, since one is a new design for the us market, and one is an old design for the au market
I can dig it Mike. Never thought of that.

count me as another who hates sunroofs and doesn't want to be forced into one.

I've had ONE vehicle that had a sunroof. never used it. I don't want all the extra maintenance on the damn thing to keep the rubber maintained and the drains flowing freely for something I'm never going to use.

my wife wants another subaru, and subaru has decided to force them on customers with certain trim levels. I'd just as soon not buy another subaru if that's how they're going to handle it.
