We appear to have a real answer here ^
It can happen that a color will balance out (plants run out and don't order more) during a model year build, but are rarely substituted. Dealer Order Guides are updated as needed during the MY, but for now AB isn't available.

It may be a future planned color,(I personally doubt it) but as of now Antimatter Blue is unavailable in any Ranger configuration including the Splash Package.
How would customers react? Hold out all model year waiting for AB to become available, then it doesn't. Or, you order another color because AB isn't available when you order, then, when you go to pick up your pickup, there is an AB Splash on the showroom floor. Usually, limited run colors are announced at the beginning; e.g. First Edition models.
Here are the colors available:

That's dated 9/27

It doesn't mesh at all with this from 9/1

Ford said:
Ford will also bring a fresh dash of color by revealing Splash Limited Edition trucks every few months in a series of one-time-only hues with just a few hundred vehicles available. It also features 18-inch matte black wheels and a unique combination of exterior and interior content and finishes. The Splash – Snow Edition kicks off the first batch.

Unless it's a semantics game meaning you can get an Oxford White Splash, Snow Edition, from Jan-Feb. And then from April to June they're selling a Cactus Grey, Easter Splash or whatever.

Most of us took the statement "one time only" to mean exclusive Splash colors.

Ford has said the "limited edition colors" will only be made available on a few hundred vehicles each, so it doesn't track that those same colors can be ordered on other trims throughout the year.

Many things at Ford do not track right now.

Marketing folks are sneaky. It might be that by a "few hundred" vehicles they mean a "few hundred" Oxford White SPLASHS.

I honestly don't trust Ford to manage a quarterly launch of a "special edition." They're gonna fuck it all up.

100% that they'll screw it up. Ford is in a real "Hold my beer" phase when it comes to managing orders.

Ford brings out regional editions of the F-150, usually toward the end of a model year. Northland Ford edition, Black Hills Gold Edition, etc. these are limited editions with sometimes an exclusive paint and/or interior, and a special option package. I saw that Sep 1 reference on Ford Authority, but methinks that with the Ranger headrest recall, Bronco MIC tops yadayada, a Limited Edition of a projected low take rate package doesn't seem likely.

But then again it didn't seem likely the Green Bay Packers were going to beat the Arizona Cardinals last night, either!

Whatever the "special" splash edition colors end up being, I would hope Eruption Green would be one of them. Really disappointed that the 22s aren't getting it as a standard choice even though it's the same plant as the bronco. I'd put a deposit down today for an Eruption Green Tremor if that was possible.
