I knew this was going to happen soon but couldn’t pass up this killer used truck market. Commuting 70 miles a day the Ranger was good but 23mpg could be better. So I added to our Mazda family and traded in on a 2015 Mazda 3. Paid $30,000 2 years and 31,300 miles ago for the Ranger and got $27,000 on trade. Not to mention I put a few dents in her.. was a great truck.

I’ll likely end up buying a old beater for fire wood and such. Til then the construction company I work at is super cool with people borrowing trucks and equipment so no worries there. I’ve enjoyed this forum. Have a good one y’all!

Cute car! A friend of mine's brother had one and it was zippier than you would have thought. Enjoy!
Really cuz it feels slow as crap coming from the Ranger. 155 HP ? 40 mpg makes up for it I guess lol

Nice new ride, good luck with your new car Tyler! I always hate to see people leave especially some of us first ones here but ya gotta do what's best for you and your wallet. Although now that I think of it being on here isn't the best for the wallet. lol Hope you still come back to the looney bin once in a while.?

When you put pen to paper, gas mileage is seldom a good reason, on its own, to trade vehicles. The difference in 23 and 40 mpg will save you around $1,000 a year, a little more or a little less depending on gas prices. I get it, a thousand bucks is a thousand bucks, but averaged over a year it’s not a huge savings and perhaps no savings if you plan to add the purchase of a beater to the equation. Now, if you profited on the trade, it may be a different story.

Back in 2008 I traded in my 2 year old Trailblazer SS in for a Hyundai Sonata for this exact same reason. My SS was tuned and required premium at $4.30/gal at the time, and it got 12 MPG's. I was spending over $500 a month on gas just going to and from work. You gotta do what you gotta do!

I still miss my TBSS, though.
