Update: I heard back from Ford Performance there was a minor update. Anyway, did the update and haven’t driven enough for an evaluation with the transmission still learning. I would say performance feels about the same. For some reason the idle seems smoother.

I’ve noticed that my traction control isn’t working or rather that I can’t turn it on or off from my tune. Has anyone else experienced this? Mine is a livernois but seeing as how it’s essentially the same thing I was curious if that’s just part of it or if I have to reach out to Livernois themselves.
I haven't had that issue! That doesn't sound too safe.

As soon as they release a tow-ready tune I AM IN. Until then, I will tag this thread and keep my eyes open. That’s the only thing keeping from getting...maybe it will be a couple tunes offered...performance tune and a tow tune...what are the chance? Slim, I know, but a guy can hope.

Spoke with Ford Performance this morning.. They have updated the tune to accommodate towing now, but it is not certified for 2021s yet and is likely a couple months out from being so.

I may consider picking one up now.. as i wanted better shift feel and a towing safe tune.
I wish i could change the tire size larger than 31.5" that the ford tune allows..

forscan has tire size in MM, I don't think it's limited to any specific size.

Anyone here concerned with rising gas prices and having to use 93 with the tune?

Here is my thought. The truck runs better with premium fuel. With thay said I will run premium fuel. Are the prices going up? Yep and we can thank Texas for not doing anything to keep themselves from going off grid when extreme weather comes in. Until they make thier fixes this will happen every so often.

Is there any degradation to performance or strictly accommodating towing?

If anything it will most likely focus on efficiency over max performance. With that said you are most likely to get more performance over stock.

I already have the Ford Performance tune, however if it degrades performance updating it. Well then I won't be updating my tune.

You must not understand engine tuning then. When you put the vehicle under a load from towing and you have a "Performance" tune you will cause problems with your powertrain that will cost you more than you want to pay. If you use a "Tow" tune while towing you are less likely to have powertrain problems.

Also if you were worried about performance that much then you should have gone with Livernois.

That’s where you would be wrong ? I’ve built turbo setups and race cars for YEARS. I want to know what specifically was done to the tune to make it “tow friendly” not speculation.

Here’s my “not knowing about tuning” built both of these cars:

The Mitsubishi Evo when I was 22, the GMC Sierra when I was 26.

Fully built 67mm turbo Evo made 890awhp @ 48psi on VP C16 600whp @ 31psi on 93 oct.

SBE 5.3 LS, full time AWD, 4l80E, 1ton front differential, 76mm turbo 760awhp turning 35s @ 14lbs on E85

I think perhaps it’s the same tune but with allowance for towing now. No? Does it have or less HP or torque than before?
