Welcome John,Hey everyone, new here. I bought a '21 Ranger Lariat. As I'm sure most everyone knows, the cupholders are no longer lighted. I ordered a pair of nice, wired, aftermarket led cupholder lights. The installation process on these calls for drilling small holes in the bottom of the cupholders. Upon doing this, I discovered that the key fobs now work only when the fob is in the cupholders. Did I mess something up badly? Thanks in advance for any advice.
You may have blindly drilled into something - kind of like when a homeowner drills a hole in drywall to hang a picture and finds out they have PEX pipe.
- I don’t think the cup holders were ever lit
- On some models, there’s a dead fob chip reader under the cup holder
