Not sure if anyone is curious as well but I wonder if us non tremor owners can add the switch panel instead of the useless dash tray? From the pictures it looks to be the same spot and size. Probably just a few wires to connect and all good?

Useless? Speak for yourself. That's where my hat, wallet, and other crap go.

The switches look cool, but I'd prefer them down below the HVAC buttons.

I thought the switches looked cool, but then the rational part of my brain asked---how many would you actually use?

When I start adding Aux stuff I'll probably get a Lightforce set-up. It clean and discrete and seeing as my truck is largely an urban warrior that makes sense for the few systems I'll be adding.

Pics?
Yes I am waiting to see if this component is sold individually as well. Granted I have a switch box installed in my dash tray now, but the factory look would be my preference.

Be curious if they come installed with harnesses already ran under the hood.

Judging by what Ford does on it's other trucks with aux switches, yes. IIRC 2 5 Amp switches, 2 10 Amp, and 2 20 Amp.

But for anybody adding switches it would be a poor choice IMHO. Ford is like to charge quite a bit for just the switches. Between Fords price for the switches and wiring/relays you're likely most of the way to a much nicer aftermarket setup. Switchpro setup is roughly $500 and you get MUCH more.

I'll bet Ford wants at least $350 for the switches alone.

Hi Doug,

It will be interesting to see if your guess is in the ball park... Also if there are wire terminations and where they are....hopefully not like the brake controller wiring....Sheesh!! Barely long enough which to work.

I noticed in the B&P the option for the switch panel and thought, "Cool. The people who want it can add it!" Nope. The minute I added it, a pop-up says "Your selection requires the addition of Tremor Package. Price will go up by $XXXX." So, I'm guessing it's going to be a pricey thing just to get it in there. Wonder why they wouldn't offer that as an option for the FX4 crowd since they've gone out of their way to market the off-road worthiness of that model.

On F-150s, 250s and according to the Bronco launch team, the Bronco, each switch has a corresponding wire both in the engine bay and passenger kick panel. My guess comes from Broncos' price for the standalone option, $500.

I hate short wires with no room to work with.

As I said the standalone option on the Bronco is $500. Available across all trims would be nice. My guess is maybe they feel only the top teir tremor deserves it.

Seems a pricey package for wheels, tires, lift, and basic switches.

Yeah, I missed that part about the Bronco! Either way, I agree that sounds like a bit much just to add some switches, but I guess you've got to incorporate six separate wires into the mix. Have you seen where these end up so you can make your connections?

We'll see.

For factory I think it's a decent price, but to add later? Depends on price alone. Losing the prerun wires by doing it after the fact? Remains to be seen.

On other Ford factory aux switches they terminate in engine bay and kick panel, one per switch in each place.

At $500 I would've had one on my Bronco if I had waited the 5 years it's apparently gonna take to build. At $500 I would have wanted some on my Ranger. Just to avoid the wiring. At $250 for just the switch pack maybe I'd add it and wire it in. But much more than that it loses it's allure to me.

I totally get that. That's a LOT of hassle to go through, especially getting past the firewall. I would think a custom truck/4x4 shop could do it for less money than that.

I built a Tremor package and the switches are not listed in it separately, but as you mention, most likely part of the Tremor package. At the price point, having switches, console and harnesses ran through firewall might not hurt. As for now, I use the wireless Trigger System.

The package I built shows as this.

Packages
501A $2,005
Trailer Tow Package $495
Tremor Off-Road Package $4,290
Technology Package 501A $0
