Hi Phil,Hi Folks,
I delivered a bundle of Ocitillo canes to my friend, Off road retired Crew Chief and friend for his Ocitillo vision block fence. Throns are about ¼-½" long....ouch! More tightly packed than the fence below, but.....

How did you handle these? Like you said they're so thorny they poke through almost anything. Every once in a while I will get to close to mine (I have 3 of them) and it's a quick shock to the backside!

They grow in the wild in the desert but can also be transplanted for landscaping. Here's my largest one in my front yard. In the spring the tips will produce red flowers.Will those grow into a live hedge ?
