Dave correct me if I am wrong but if I recall you stated somewhere that you are Polish. I am 100%, so try a little Polish reverse psychology, start agreeing with & explaining why she probably would not like or be happy the Bronco, making sure she see's little tidbits of the new Bronco, the more she thinks about it the better it will appeal to her.  Then it will be her idea & all ends well.
Yes I am along with Italian,French and a wee bit if Irish..A real Mutt here. Lately when I have the build page up she's been asking more and more questions so there may be hope. If not I figure once I get mine and she drives it she'll like it and I can talk her into a tricked out Badlands. She loves driving my Ranger so I think this may be easier once she drives the Bronco. ? ?

I stuck a photo of a bicycle that I wanted on the refrigerator. It took two years, but the bike miraculously appeared as a birthday gift. Wife who could take a hint is long gone. Bicycle is still here. Win-win :)

Many of those tire shine products as well as Armor All pull the carbon black out of the tire carcass. The carbon black is impregnated into the tire and helps preserve the rubber over the tire's life.
When I picked up mt 2015 Flex, they had put tire shine on it for delivery. First car wash I too had the dreaded brown walls the rest of the time I had it. When the lease was up and traded it fo my current Escape, I told them no tire shine and why. They didn't, and I have nice dull but black sidewalls.
Hi Chris, I researched this earlier this year as it was bothering me as well, (and..well its 2020 and lets face it, we all have more time to be bored than we perhaps used to. ) It is my understanding that the browning is formed by the oxidization of the anti-moulding agent they impregnate the tire compound with to protect the tire from uv rays, tire cracking etc. The tires will bleed these agents out over the life of the tire. Where I absolutely agree with you is that some tire cleaners are very aggressive and they 'pull' the antiozonants out at an accelerated rate giving you the "I can't keep up impression" which you may have experienced when you bought your Flex. Chem guys and Mcguires have good cleaning products that apply a conditioner at the same time as cleaning to help slow the browning process but you'll never completely get rid of it.

Cheers..

Stock floor mats and step rails.
Technically I didn't really pay for them.
And then technically I did...

The Dealer wasn't willing to knock any more off the price of the vehicle and I was going to walk out. He threw in the steps and mats. I took them because I needed steps and mats. I was going to buy them independently and get better than standard OEM. Figured these would "work until then."

I think I'd rather have had the $1000 value to put towards beefy step rails and better mats. Didn't really have the choice though.

I'm fly. I'm pilot.
For MOST of the time: the Air Lift rear air bags. They're not tall enough so when you drop over a bump they extend all the way and the rear end just DROPS down. It has made the ride quite rough.

When towing or hauling, they're awesome. Nothing like having your truck ride level when loaded down.

So I read the factory tailgate damper mod thread to see why people don't like it...what am I missing? :D What makes them terrible? I'm about to get a 2021, and was going to add a damper until i saw these comments.

Are these recommended?

Just take the tailgate off! It is a marvelous torture device for young children, the clueless and never where you need it when you do. When dampered it never lowers fast enough to not keep your 105.3 degree foam double whip room no room Grande small biotox xtract blended latte from dropping to the ground caused by muscle loss.

On the other hand, best mod since pine tree air freshener.

Flame decals on the doors.
Modification to the center console to replace the bucket seats with
a bench seat.
Carpet inserts on the front door panels.
White wall tires.
Tailgate damper.
Hood scoop.
So, I gather the 9 inch exhaust running up through the bed is still cool?

It drives me nuts that this is what the dealers spend their time on instead of useful things like topping off the washer fluid and setting the proper tire pressure.

Topping off washer fluid would involve opening the hood. I think either the factory or the rail yard over-inflate the tires deliberately to help keep the vehicles from rocking to and fro in the rail car. Conventional wisdom says reducing tire pressure is time consuming, especially when two transporters show up at the dealership with 9 units each to prep for delivery. So the lot laddie/lassie figgers if they ain't low, they're good to go! Not saying it's right but I can see that happening.

Highly! What you're missing is the extra hp and torque that we dampered ones have found. ?

Seriously though it's not like the tailgate is heavy but it's a nice mod when your hands are full and you need to lower it. Instead of dropping everything or just letting it crash down it will drop slowly. Just another nice feature like power windows or door locks.

Of course it's because they're lazy--I just wish they'd do what they're supposed to do instead of putting quick shine on the tires instead. I don't want the quick shine, it's gonna look like crap in a couple of days, but they're dead certain that selling cars must involve some kind of show involving quick shine and a bell. Honestly, I wish I could just buy a car from amazon or something so I don't have to deal with a dealer at all.

The Tasca sill protectors. I put them on with Gorilla tape and they have vanished. The tape is still there.
So, best option purchase is Gorilla tape?
