Hi Ron,

Please consider opening up a formal complaint with Ford Customer Care.. If this fix is not Robust enough we need to build a case to get the Field Service Engineers back on the case...

Sad it did not fix your shudder.

I am in the same boat. The TSB did not improve the shudder at all. I just called customer care to inform them the TSB was not effective. Their suggestion......"Go to another dealer". Not gonna happen. My dealer bent over backwards trying several combinations from the shim kit after the "calculated" shim did not work at all. The problem only got worse with the shims, never better.

Now this is where things start getting dicey for me. Say the issue does turn out to be for example, the transmission having incorrect fluid type/level installed, or something completely unrelated to the current TSB's attempting to fix it. What then? Will Ford go back and put the trucks that have received these failed fixes back to original factory spec if they fail to resolve this? I have a feeling that they won't. What kind of potential long term impact could this cause to the trucks that have had the work done to them?
Did you have a chance to check the transmission fluid level?

No, he did not tell me it was gone. He told me whether it was still there or not was up to me as I am the one that has to be happy. I believe he knew nothing changed. I will be talking with him soon to see what is next. His hands are pretty much tied if Ford's fix does not work. I don't know what else he can do. I have a really good relationship with the service manager and I think he would do whatever I ask of him within reason. Hell, I don't know what to tell him now. I can't believe Ford's engineers can't come up with fix for it. Based on my experience at Caterpillar, I would bet they know the cause and the fix, but the top "brass" will not spend the money to implement the correct fix.
I called Ford Customer Care and I asked them what if the TSB didn't fix the issue what would happen and they told me the dealer would contact the Ford Technical Service Line and keep trying to fix the vehicle until it was fixed.

Maybe we should try and figure out if there is a range of build dates which trucks are affected in. For those that have the shudder, what are your build dates?
Mine is May 21st, 2020

I've noticed that with the weather getting colder and advent of winter gas blend there is some degree of uneveness when accelerating from stop, it seems to be the worst when engine is partially warmed up , noticed it today going up a hill . Probably take it in a some point, somewhat surprised Ford isn't recommending the update for all 2019 if it results in a smoother running engine.

My build date was 4/28/19 and was put in service in 11/19. I bought it 6/14/20 as a CPO vehicle with 12400 miles.

No they won't. They will exhaust all the obvious ideas and when they run out of them, they will send you on your way. The fix is not working for a fair number and Ford doesn't have the answers as of yet.

I had an issue similar to what's being described here. Lowering my tire pressure from 38-40psi down to 30psi seems to have fixed it. Local dealer "ordered" the shim kit for my truck but haven't heard back, that was three or four weeks ago.

Then you didn't have the same problem we are having. I can lower mine to zero PSI and still feel the vibration.

hahaha, there goes any credibility.
its one thing to exaggerate a little, another to completely lie
Now I know in reality he didn't mean what he said, but with that said, I could totally see some Bubba doing this to diagnose the problem. lol

"Hey Cleetus hold muh beer Ill show you how to test-icate this here tra'ck to figure it out"

I’m not sure if I have this issue or not.....when I start from a stop I always feel a little vibration. Almost feels like very slight wheel hop. (No it’s not that. Haha) it’s always from start till about 10mph. Then gone.
