Hey guys been trolling here really sense I got the truck around a year ago when I traded my 2014 Focus ST. 2019 Ranger XLT Sport 4x4. I have done a Rough Country leveling kit, Raptor grille lights, Go-Rhino running boards, bed rug, LT side bed swing box, 32" BF Goodwrich KO2s, emblem overlays, Rough Country front tow hooks. I also own and restored my 67 Mercury Cougar.

Great looking Cougar and truck! I had a 13 ST and a 17' ST then moved to the Ranger
Yeah the ST was a great car just really needed a truck. With my Mishimoto intercooler and custom tunes and whatnot that hatch would move pretty good. I had in the past a built 98 Cobra Mustang, 93 Ranger Splash, 05 Subaru Legacy GT

I learned how to drive a manual transmission on our 1967 Cougar XR7 with the Dan Gurney package back in the day. Great car! ;)

My 13 ST was worked up pretty good! My 17 I left stock.

What motor is in the Cougar?

Nice truck and nice job on the Cougar! I owned both a 1967 289 Cougar with deluxe interior and a 1968 Cougar GT with factory R code engine 428CJ Ram Air 4 speed. I think the intake manifold on that engine weighed about 80 pounds lol. I took it off once and thought I had forgotten a bolt, but it was just crazy heavy.

Haha yeah good old cast iron lol. Those are some sweet cars. The Cougar really is a great car and underappreciated IMO.

Late to the party as I just saw this thread...we should have a club for 5Gen Rangers and Cougars. I have a 69 std conv in the garage covered up. Gas leaked out a few years ago, so it needs a new tank. Plus I have new ss brake lines but not put them on yet. I usually just look at it when I go to the garage. Told the wife it was a retirement project, but I retired a year ago and it's still covered up! At one point I bought a 99 Cougar to go with it, but sold it with low miles, never drove it in the PA snow, or even in the rain.

Hey Martin - both look terrific! Seems a lot of Ranger owners have mustangs, so it’s nice to see some Mercs too.

Friend of mine had a 68 Cougar, 289 auto transmission. We got the bright idea to change it over to a 4 speed in high school auto class so off to the local junk yard to get everything we needed. Once we got it switched over it would hardly move. Rear end was geared to high and he had to slip the clutch to get it rolling but man did it roll. Took it on the interstate and flew around everyone. He never even opened it up in 4th gear. Needles to say, one more trip to the junk yard for the correct rear end.
