Regarding just the tire pressure, I think this is why dealers overinflate the trucks on the lot. Every truck I've owned looked slightly underinflated in the front. On one F150 I put on E rated tires and ran them at 50 pounds except on the sand or Ice.
I must be in the minority on this topic. It took me years to get used to that "feature" in different trucks and it, frankly, irritated me. I thought it was a "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" thing. I just wanted the window opened a small bit...ugh. Not all the way down.
But...
I can't dispute this but I can never understand insurance rates. My 2020 4X4 Ranger is $10 cheaper per month than my 2010 Chevy Silverado 4X4 for the exact same coverage. Go figure. Maybe it's the lane assist and other safety features.
Nice truck and nice job on the Cougar! I owned both a 1967 289 Cougar with deluxe interior and a 1968 Cougar GT with factory R code engine 428CJ Ram Air 4 speed. I think the intake manifold on that engine weighed about 80 pounds lol. I took it off once and thought I had forgotten a bolt, but...
I'm enjoying this thread as well. It's a real plus to have Phil contributing to the forum. Thanks Phil.
My first Ranger was a 1991 regular cab Sport 6 cylinder 5 speed. My first new vehicle off the lot. I wish I had the sticker...I think it was $10,600. I paid for it from making a quick buck...
Have to agree with the brake comment. It has no feel IMO. I too have creeped forward at a stop too often. Maybe I'm just getting used to electronic brakes.
interesting. Thanks for sharing. I bought the ValvoMax version that looks very similar. I'll be putting it on next week.
I wasn't really sure if I'd be able to avoid removing the skid plate during future changes since this hose needs to be removed between changes. I haven't crawled under...
Thanks. I do now note that it's all light blue in 2WD. I also see the redundancy. I think the display could be a bit more clear but at least I understand it now.
Regarding the wheels, I assumed the front and back were both open differentials with no type of posi-traction unless the rear locker...
I was in 4 High today and engaged the locking rear. I remembered the off road info display and pulled it up.
Questions:
1) Shouldn't the picture in the middle show the front drivetrain engaged?
2) Do we know which wheels actually have power to them (left rear and right front)? Unless of...
Received a MotiveX oil funnel and did the fitting mod as described elsewhere in the forum. Took about 30 seconds with the sanding drum on a Dremel. Perfect fit now.
First oil change is quickly approaching...
Thank you. That's exactly what I want to do....with a couple notches for fishing poles. Just to hold a chair and tackle box back there instead of the backseat.
Has anyone cut a board for the slots near the rear of the bed? Something like a 2x8 to go across the bed? I had one years ago in a Dodge Dakota and it was really helpful. The Ranger slots look too wide and too shallow.
