normally ford just has a plug in under the dash and a supplied wiring harness for the plug, with bare wires ready. This is how my Super Duty came, before they started offering controllers as a option. My '05 F150 I had before it the plug but I had to order the wiring harness which was available from the brake controller manufacture. I'm sure there is a universal ford plug or at least wires ready for this under the dash somewhere.
I sure hope so, I installed the complete Ford Towing Package in my Transit Connect and it was hand wired without a single provision for interface other than the battery attachment and 26 pages of instructions.:whew:

I guess one way to tell for the folks with the tow package is there pigtail connector located in the glovebox for adding an aftermarket TBC?
Any mention of this in the owner's manual?

If Ford advertises a 7,500 lb. tow rating on this truck and doesn't even give a pigtail to wire a brake controller into, that's mind boggling. Especially in the year 2019.

I'm following this thread.

Ford chat is useless. We need to get Rick Bolt to give us an answer.

Typical and pathetic!

Anybody actually have the tow package among those who have received their trucks?

MY guess (and I hate to guess) is that there will be a plug under the dash with the "tow package" and it will not be there with the bumper ball and 4-plug trucks.

Check at the 7 way rear plug and see if it has wires running to all connections and leading into a harness.

More info to further confuse what Ford should be able to give a simple answer...
I called the parts guy at a local dealership to ask about the plug.
He took the time and checked carefully... He says NO PLUG, but he said you will find a small bundle of wires taped to the left kick panel which are intended to be butt spliced to the controller harness.

This is close to an answer but will be great to hear from an owner who has accomplished the task

This isn't the best but someone posted a picture of the underside and you can catch a glimpse of the trailer wiring leading to the commector. It does look like it has all the wires and the heavy gauge 12v+ to power the trailer brakes already there.

Yea, ya know sometimes you look around for an answer that is right under your nose...
From "build and Price"...

"The Trailer Tow Package provides the gear you need to pull up to 7,500 lbs.
Package includes:
• 4-pin/7-pin Wiring Harness
• Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver"

There is no controller pigtail harness in the glove box in the 2 new Rangers with the Tow Package that I checked on our lot, like you find in the F150's that do not have the factory installed brake controller. I have not pulled the trim panel under the dash to see if maybe there is a pigtail harness connected and stashed in there. I should be able to try to do that on one of the next batch of Rangers that shows up on our lot next week. I would also like to peruse the Owners Manual to see what it says regarding a plug or just cut wires that we need to splice into.

If there is some kind of wiring it should be under the climate control or in the center console by the dash somewhere. Could be just left of that too, but maybe there's isn't anything... because they want you to buy a f150

It might take a tad more to solve the back log of Ranger deliveries but I have heard it rumored that”Ford has a better idea.”
