I personally will sit and do some reading on a forum such as this before ever buying a 1st MY Ford after this experience to see what other owners are saying. I loved my focus, I loved my escape. Always wanted a ranger growing up...

I still love my truck but ford and their respective dealerships and 3rd party vendors lack of knowledge or complete misinformation in regards to the new rangers combined with issues with parts and service after purchase has been upsetting.

I don’t think that’s MY specific, I had a 2012 Fusion and the dealers didn’t know jack about them either.

A manual? Fuuuuu

Ck. Want.

That was the single redeeming feature of the Tacoma but it wasn't enough to pull me away from the Ranger.

Edit: having watched the entire video, it's looking like a pretty serious feature set in that Bronco.

Look at it this way, you won't have to worry about it getting stolen. So that's a plus.

I went to a fancy wedding in my manual Ranger years ago, I had to park it for the valet and he still had the nerve to ask for a tip.

I just hope it's true that the new Ranger frame is based on the Bronco's and we get away from being limited to the four-banger. It's a great engine, but the rumored 2.7EB and a manual trans from the Bronco would be great in a Ranger. I can't do without a bed.

Put 280k miles on 1987 Bronco with the 300 6, one awesome vehicle. i'll wait to see what they have done to new one before even thinking about.
Ford's 240/300 inline sixes were incredibly stout motors, Ford got that engine right. Compared to the anemic 144/170/200/250 "Falcon" sixes, relatively durable engines simply because they did not produce much usable power.

Yes a manual tranny is a millenial anti theft device!
ROFL!
I must share a true story about a thirty something male relative:
He attempted to move an archaic late sixties Chevy van, but was stumped that it had a column shift lever (he thought it was an automatic gearshift), but the presence of a clutch pedal truly bewildered him. He actually thought it was a second brake pedal...
Yes, it was a "3 on the tree", he had never seen a setup like this in his life, needless to say I had to move the Chevy.
Another way to stump a Millennial is to place a working rotary dial telephone in front of them and have them place a call...lol

I don't think I've ever seen a '3 on the tree' before, but I'd figure out what it was pretty quick.

44, but I've heard of it just never seen one in person that I remember. Then again, my family had a lot of old cars when I was a kid but I wasn't paying attention then.

I knew how to drive manual on the floor. But working for my cousins floor clean business (35 years ago) at night he had to go help another worker. Left me to drive the work van with 3 on the tree back home. (25 miles) He took off with out telling me what gears are where just asked if i knew how to drive stick. Talk about kicked in the deep end have never seen the shift pattern displayed in a vehicle with 3 on the tree. Stayed on the back roads until i figured it out. Got pretty good by stopping and running through the gears a dozen times on the way home.

Grandfather had a Ford Fairlane wagon that rusted so badly it couldn't get a sticker any longer so he gave it to us kids to bomb around in the fields. Yep, 3 on the tree.
