How many owners hate that radio antenna?
Does the Stubby work as well and allow you to park where ever you want?

Haha - absolute first mod I did after dragging the OEM antenna across the garage door - changed mine to the CravenSpeed Stubby.
I don’t have a lot of reference how it compares as I only had the OEM antenna on for 3 days....what I can say is around town its great. Once you start getting some distance though I don’t think it has the same range as what I’m accustomed to getting ( at least in comparison to my other vehicles).

There's a lengthy thread about this.

Actually, I do not hate the antenna at all. My Ranger fits into everywhere I have to go, and the truck gets washed at the Ford dealer (complimentary with service), or I do it myself--so no danger of the antenna getting caught in the car wash. I don't listen to the radio at all, as I prefer to listen to playlists on my iPhone via Bluetooth and the B&O. So I just leave the antenna alone rather than remove it so that water does not drain down into the system.

Has anyone actually taken their Ranger through a automatic car wash with the stubby OEM antennae? If so, did it get caught?

Just ordered the Craven from Amazon.
I've hit the antenna on my son's garage door and low hanging trees at the mall. Even tried to clip it on the height warnings going into parking garages.
This is a mostly stock Ford Ranger...what was somebody thinking...or not thinking!

craven stubby works just fine, wish it wasn't branded with a logo because it looks stupid but i don't drive sitting on the roof, so its all good, not a deal breaker

One of my first mods was to replace the antenna with a stubby. I didn't get the 'shortest' one available, but shorter than the OEM. No problem with performance that I could detect.

Are there different antenna types for different models? The antenna on my XLT doesn't seem that outlandish or big. But on my 2014 Mustang, it was one of the first things I changed!

I replaced mine just because I like the look of the stubby antenna better, but unfortunately my stupid garage door still makes contact with the shark fin so my truck remains outside. It's okay, the motorcycles didn't want to share the garage anyway.

I've had mine through the car wash several times since I changed to a stubby -- no problems at all.
