Laying next to me on the couch napping until his next snack. I put seat covers on the backseat so he doesn't get them muddy.

Anyone got a dog? Do you let it in your truck yet? With leather seats I’m worried they’ll get trashed.

I've taken this guy:

Quite a few times in the back seat of my Ranger (with Leather). I laid down an old moving blanket for him to lay on, but he has walked all over the seat - no issues other than his claws ripping the door seal (it is REALLY thin). My kids bought me a dog cover for the back seat, so I use that now, but the moving blanket worked pretty well. Here is another shot of him and my son's dog crashed out in the back seat after a hike (you can see the moving blankets on the seat):

I grew up with dogs, kind of miss not having one. But, the wife is a crazy cat lady :S (nah, not that bad, we only have 1 cat right now, she used to have a bunch more though). Maybe one day we'll get a dog, my wife actually wants one, but I'm the one holding off from it, we have a lot of neighbors with barking dogs, and I really dread having to deal with a dog imitating that :/

When we, though, I hope to either get a Husky or a Shepherd. I love a dog with smarts :)

We've got 3 rescue dogs. They've all been in the truck many times by now. I don't have the leather seats, but we do have a generic Carhartt seat cover and an old wool army blanket that we put down to keep them from messing up the seat. It's also easy to fold up and throw in the bed quick if we need to take actual human passengers in the back seat as well.

I had a seat cover and a car mattress in the back of my Fusion for the dogs. The mattress was the kind that fills up the foot wells so it gave them more room. I haven’t tried that in the a Ranger yet.

My girl Abby. She loves going for rides and exploring the mountains.

I use a pet hammock for the backseat and it works very well to keep the seat in great shape.
