Since you seem to be confused it is simply a power outlet that plugs into the accessory plug by the bed but also uses the random rectangular hole on the left side of the bed.I got my Carrot Powerhouse 2000 installed today...works great...
Somethings not rightInstalled the Wolf Haus power outlet tonight. Could not get it tightened down so it wouldn't move around. Ended up having to drill 2 additional holes through the housing to fasten it tightly. Overall I am pleased with the design though.
You are right it is a very well made part. I tried every way possible to tighten it down but it still would still wobble. It does work very well. The directions were first rate. Must have been owner/user error in following directions! ?I got mine in today, will install tomorrow. The swivel arms have to turn in behind the bed opening and then screwed down sung without letting them swing back against the housing, that means constant pressure in a clockwise direction. This accessory is expensive, but it is hand made, no machinery, so that takes time, and it seems very well made.
How is this different from the 12v bed cig plug outlet?Since you seem to be confused it is simply a power outlet that plugs into the accessory plug by the bed but also uses the random rectangular hole on the left side of the bed.
The main difference is you don't have to drill a hole in the bed if you don't want to. It also gives you a different plug-in instead of just the 12 volt cigarette lighterHow is this different from the 12v bed cig plug outlet?
it's entirely the same thing, except with an existing hole instead of major surgery. ford would have sold a zillion 12v kits if they'd just made a hole for their part, instead a 3rd party gets the sales. How is this different from the 12v bed cig plug outlet?
So this part is for trucks without Ford's 12v optional plug...?it's entirely the same thing, except with an existing hole instead of major surgery. ford would have sold a zillion 12v kits if they'd just made a hole for their part, instead a 3rd party gets the sales.
If it's got the little plug by the bed then you can install this with no problems. To my understanding I have yet to see a single Ford Ranger that has the 12-volt suck itself already in the bed.So this part is for trucks without Ford's 12v optional plug...?
