Installed the Wolf Haus power outlet tonight. Could not get it tightened down so it wouldn't move around. Ended up having to drill 2 additional holes through the housing to fasten it tightly. Overall I am pleased with the design though.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I got mine in today, will install tomorrow. The swivel arms have to turn in behind the bed opening and then screwed down sung without letting them swing back against the housing, that means constant pressure in a clockwise direction. This accessory is expensive, but it is hand made, no machinery, so that takes time, and it seems very well made.

Since you seem to be confused it is simply a power outlet that plugs into the accessory plug by the bed but also uses the random rectangular hole on the left side of the bed.

Mine came today. Appears to be top quality craftsmanship. I don't even have my Ranger yet....but he does have a install video on his web page.

You are right it is a very well made part. I tried every way possible to tighten it down but it still would still wobble. It does work very well. The directions were first rate. Must have been owner/user error in following directions! ?

Where are you guys buying it? The store and "buy now" buttons on the WH website point you to a password prompt.

How is this different from the 12v bed cig plug outlet?

The main difference is you don't have to drill a hole in the bed if you don't want to. It also gives you a different plug-in instead of just the 12 volt cigarette lighter

it's entirely the same thing, except with an existing hole instead of major surgery. ford would have sold a zillion 12v kits if they'd just made a hole for their part, instead a 3rd party gets the sales. :)

So this part is for trucks without Ford's 12v optional plug...?

If it's got the little plug by the bed then you can install this with no problems. To my understanding I have yet to see a single Ford Ranger that has the 12-volt suck itself already in the bed.
