That is a good story! I loved those old Isuzus.. I lived in Scottsbluff Nebraska and we used to have fun just blasting around in it. Simpler times for sure.

I owned a 1982 Isuzu Diesel P'up. Bought new. 4 speed on the floor with AC and power steering. Slow, but great mileage and reliability. It started instantly (after the 3 second glow plug warmup time) at -9F !!

Great truck. I hauled IBM equipment all over my East Texas, north Louisiana service area. IBM didn't pay their "Customer Engineers" a great deal of $$, but that was one of my favorite jobs. Complete freedom.

I drove the truck until some young girl rear ended me at a stop light. Put my knee through the dash right where the headlight switch was. Had it repaired but it was never the same. Kept it for another 10 years.

Got a call one evening from someone wanting to purchase it sight unseen. Offered me $1200 for it over the phone. This was 1996. I told him to come and get it. A year went by and I'm still driving it... door bell rings at 9:30 pm! I answered and found a fella with a car carrier 18 wheeler sitting in front of my home. He said he was there to pickup my truck and give me the cash. I cleaned out the truck, sign it over and took the cash and a receipt.

I asked him about the "deal". He told me it was heading to Brazil along with a boatload more that he had been collecting to export.

Easiest sale I ever made.
My dad had an Isuzu truck too and really loved that vehicle.

The word is the 6g will be 2 " wider and 2" longer.
It's just 2 inches. Of course the 7g will be another few inches. 20 years and you'll have an f250. Of course, by then, the f250 will look something like this:

bigger is always better, y'know?

I'm curious what my fellow 5G members think about upgrading to the 6G. I listed my theoretical pros / cons below.

Pro:
- Possible next generation 2.3 ecoboost with direct and port injection
- Modernized interior with wireless carplay / android auto
- Possible 2.7 ecoboost availability
- Better HVAC control layout
- Bed side step
- Improved gauge cluster (Those of you with Lariats will appreciate this.)
- Most likely will offer integrated factory brake controller

Cons:
- Styling is questionable. Certainly not as recognizable as 5G
- More tech... more problems right?
- Gear shifter is 100% electronic... no mechanical linkage

I plan on upgrading mainly for the improved interior. Let me know what you think!

Not loving the look of the front end on the 6G . Will stick with my tremor for a while. Still love driving it.

I heard all the hype about the 6th Gen with the extra 2" of length & width, but when I saw the pictures I preferred the looks of the 5th Gen, so that's what I bought.

Do you feel like the improvements is worth the cost of an upgrade ?

I'm a bit conflicted. I'm in the market for a truck and I have been planning for over a year to pick up a baseline 6G xl with a rear locker optioned.

But even then it's probably a 38k truck.

Lately, I'm thinking with all the trade-ins bound to happen, I could probably pick up a 5G with the same option for 28k.

I just need it for disperse camping.

As of now, I'm not planning to upgrade. My 2019 is paid off, and while there are a few things, nothing that is worth it to me. I've been very happy with my 2019. The 2.7, the improved interior, the 360 camera and the ability to fit a 4x8 sheet flat in the bed are plusses for me, but the cost, the fact that it is bigger and a first year vehicle are negatives for me. If they were to announce a PHEV, that would get me to reconsider.
