I'll do a spirited run occasionally, but I'm not made of money, and want this thing to last so no WOT pulls...

Plus since people won't stop making more useless people, the streets are overly crowded so there's no room to hot rod it.

It is really amazing that a 4500 lb truck with a 4 banger that gets 25 mpg can have decent acceleration. Technology has come a long way.But is it fast? Not really. True story, my wife and I were coming back from the lake yesterday after seeing if the docks were ready so we could put the boat in for the season. Driving down a 2 lane state route, we came up to a Fed-Ex truck that was stopped on the shoulder making a delivery. I came to a stop waiting for oncoming traffic to clear, put it in sport mode, and when traffic cleared i floored it,and ran it up to about 65. My wife, who was messing with her phone, barely glanced up. She asked "was that it ?" I said yea, and we both laughed. She has rode many times with me in the Galaxie, so the ranger feels slow to her. I mean, it's sporty for a 4wd truck daily driver that gets great fuel mileage, but in reality its a 15 second truck, which ain't bad, but not a rocket by any means.

My truck isn't built for road performance so I'm not drifting around corners, but my foot is solidly on the floor many times every day.
I can attest that they do indeed drift. Have to be really aggressive to make those yellow turn arrows.

I have no doubt 'they' drift, just mine isn't ideal for it (lifted, lots of additional weight, big knobby tires, etc. I swing the ass around at lower speeds, but don't want to roll, while showing off. LOL

Should have gone 2wd and a very upper 14 stock is possible. (I live at sea level so that helps)

Zoooooommm

Fast no. Slow no, will run with the modern semi hot hatches/coupes out there. Might catch something a bit faster off guard enough to make them worry they are gonna get beat by a Ranger.

I maybe dating myself with the title - but there are times I like to drop the shifter to S - and when the light goes green - drive like I stole the truck. This truck just gets up and moves very quickly and you get to see the beauty of this powertrain - that transmission takes you right to redline and then shifts so smoothly. I do like that - MPG be damned
Man I love kicking that turbo in. I love driving up to the interstate on-ramp and flooring it and showing everybody how fast my truck is LOL
