Indeed. But that's for sure a severe impact location.

One of the main reason I chose and installed Shrockworks Rock Sliders on our 2019 SuperCab was because I could get them with a texture finished powder coating. They've been on for 3 years and I haven't found a spot of rust on them anywhere..... yet.
I just went to the shrockworks website, looks like it's down. BTW, I didn't know some people call these rock sliders. I have heard nerf bars and running boards.
I found a website where a Ranger owner did a write up on them. They look good. They also appear to be quite heavy.
Edit: Just found out that Shrockworks went out of business.

You can jack the truck up with them. They are designed to slide on rocks when "rock crawling" / off roading, to protect the body of the truck. That's why Shrockwork's called them "Rock Sliders".

I have heard rumors that the company went belly up, but haven't seen anything official.

Oh, so they may be overkill if I never take the truck on that kind of terrain. Every link related to Shrockworks is dead. I saw that they were closed on a site with reviews.

Guess I shoulda got it in white...

I don't see a real solution for this outside of a expensive and ugly line-x coating or maybe I will try doing a strip of plasti-dip. Chips through the 3M strip and even if I got it repainted under warranty it would just chip again with this thin eco-paint.

Ford Mud flaps and Bug shield went on pre-delivery. Those along with running boards have saved a lot of paint chip.
