You can’t chalk all off road tires. Some dont have a flat tread surface.

Experienced guess..32 if they are E load range 36 if C.

Gotta chalk. Tweak to your liking.

I just put my 285s on but I’m still experimenting. 20 psi seems pretty comfortable for general trail use. Currently running 35 on road.

How’s those 285’s going for ya?

I have 305’s.. they are absolutely beautiful, but my PSI & MPG, is just out of control lol… 16-16.5MPG.

Mine are on track to hit their promised 60K...although I hate the last 10-15K as they will start to look visibly worn but still have legal tread depth...

How tall are those 305?

My Coopers have flat contact blocks and chalk test with 37 cold-40 hot, at my weight of 5,000-5,500lbs shows full flat contact...your results may differ...

Had " The Works" done yesterday. 3 out of 4 tires measured 8mm and one 7. They have 21k miles on them.

They must not have measured the edges that show my hard cornering.

Go with indicated pressure on the sidewall of the tire. I have 235/80-17 Generals that are at 45psi.

That's usually the max pressure, and running that isn't a great idea unless your truck is loaded down to max capacity.

Remember that pressures vary by tire construction. A p metric tire will require less pressure than an LT or flotation tire, regardless of size.

Here's a good calculator, I'd encourage everyone here to start with its recommended pressure, then adjust up or down as you get a feel for it.

And yes, 15-18 PSI is appropriate off-road. Go lower on sand or deep snow, but don't go lower if you're going to hit rocks.

When I drove my truck off the lot, the dealer had inflated the oem Hankook Dynapros to 46psi. I wondered why I could feel every single pebble on the road until I got home and realized what they'd done, smh :explode:

Your pressures are way to high on the street. I run 30-32 on the road with my Patagonia MT’s and 15-20 on trails.
Factory door said 39 PSI for factory tire 270/70/17, my new tires 285/70/17 that why I thought 39-40 PSI should make sense, but I’m not professional, Justin a regular weekend warrior.

Mine doesn't have a door sticker, thought that was kind of odd.
