I get what you mean there!!I had a diesel "defend his manhood" I guess today. There's a light that holds for a long time, it has two lanes that turn onto the onramp for the freeway. I always take the shorter line to make sure I get through the light then I don't care where I merge into the line for the onramp, I just wait my turn to merge in. Today a F350 was on the inside an the line had about ten cars so I took the outside which was empty an passed the cars in the left an made my turn. The 350 wasn't accelerating hard an I merged into the lane an he was a good 10 car lengths back. I just figured he was taking it easy. When we got close to the highway he floors it, shoots across the white line between the freeway lane an the onramp an across the first lane of traffic into the outside lane an took off. He slowed down to the speed limit because I stayed the same distance behind.
Around here aggressive drivers can be found in any vehicle type, but big trucks an full size suv's seem to dominate. I try not to push it because I'm driving a work car an getting paid by the hour, but I will take the shorter line if there's multiple lanes at a light.
I always try to go for what makes sense when there are multiple drivers in one lane and none in the other(and both going the same direction). I also make sure that if I'm going to pass that it's worth the effort.
