I traded a '10 Sport Trac for my '19 XLT FX4 SCREW which I traded for a Land Cruiser which I traded for a 22 Tremor, then I had a couple of Jeeps, a Gladiator and a Grand Cherokee and now I am back in a '21 XLT FX4 SCREW. I like this one the best.

2011 Hyundai Santa Fe diesel AWD. It was a great car, super reliable, nice to drive, and nicely kitted out. I actually missed it when I passed it on.
Used to tow our Jayco wind up camper quite well too, even on dirt roads, but when we talked about getting a bigger van I realised we needed something sturdier.
I'd wanted a Ranger for a while, so no longer needed to manufacture an excuse, I got a Ranger, my wife got the Santa Fe and my eldest son got her Kia Sportage, later when she bought an e-car (because she had quite a long commute and could get free e-top ups at work) the Santa Fe went to our second son who is still at uni and drives it like he stole it, it now has close to 200,000 Km on it and still running well.

After I hit a second deer with my 2017 Focus ST I figured it was time to get out while the used market was still red-hot. After hitting 2 deer with it I still got out more then I paid, got X plan pricing on the Ranger too so it didn't make much sense keeping the ST around though I do absolutely miss the gearbox 100% of the time.

what made you upgrade. YOu mind me asking how much?
I had 60k miles on the truck. We are getting a travel trailer in summer, so we wanted low miles. Low miles is supposed to be trouble free. I have also towed a lot with the 22 ranger, so lots of maintenance. Added a redarc brake controller, worked beautifully. So the 24 ranger was wider and longer. Should tow better. Towing today, only 3k pounds nothing big. It has backup assist, dont trust it i can back up trailers just fine, and an integrated brake controller!! This ranger rides better, shifts smoother, drives smoother, wish i could get the 2.7 without 4x4. This is what the ranger should have been out the gate.
Sticker was 41, i got it at 38 plus trade. So it srill fell within my numbers so why not. Glad i did.
2024 xlt 4x2 andvance tow, elocker

My prior car was a 2018 BMW 440i Gran Coupé M Sport w/ track package, tech, luxury, etc. The only thing it was missing; AWD (you either get track or AWD).

It wasn’t a trade-in, unless trading it into Copart, where the insurance companies sell the totaled vehicles, is considered a trade-in!

A deer on steroids and protein shakes jumped out in front of me, it would be a guaranteed total loss and I was worrying about how low I am and it’s smashing through my window and ending up in my lap violently!

The alternative wasn’t the best because I ended up in a rice field irrigation canal where many have drowned in their vehicles, but instead of being 6 feet deep, it was about 18 inches and only filled the passenger side with about 10 inches of water, as I banked it up the side a little bit at the very end. I was waiting for a very violent ending, as all I could see was that 8 foot grass mowing down, hoping the enormous concrete structures that divert the water were not anywhere near! In that case, I would have wished I had just taken out the Animal. My insurance rates still wish I had taken it out because the surcharges are gone but I don’t have all of the good driving discounts!

Here’s that bad boy! I put on the BMW M performance carbon fiber spoiler, rocker trim and lower front spoiler, turning it into a great looking addition but a nightmare in the parking lot!

It

Almost made even more limiting decision. Corvette Gran Sport. Very fun but even more of a nightmare w/ low stance.

Anyways, the upside was I had never considered the Ranger Tremor (it just wasn’t on my radar) My life is a lot easier when it comes to being a homeowner AND parking lots.

I absolutely love this truck and I’m not even sure I will get rid of it in the next 10 years or more. Time will tell

except for a ranger raptor ?
I’m missing part of your meaning unfortunately. ?

If you’re saying they are bad ass, along with being pretty awesome to have one, then yes, I would have a hard time disagreeing with that! I will have to say that I’m still waiting for the new Ranger style to grow on me. I do know that it will! So I don’t hold that against them for sure.

I do think though that for much less money, and keep in mind, the raptor would have to stay stock, but it’s upgraded just by the manufacturer so not apples to apples… But… I don’t know where I’m going here. I guess one of the points is that I did not pay much more for a tremor lariat than many who just paid for a lariat in any of the other packages that are 4 x 4. And luckily, my timing was such that Covid prices didn’t absolutely smoke me out!

Anyways, to continue that thought and know where I’m going; I’m pretty sure that with the upgraded inner cooler, charge pipes, and a pretty mean tune, I will have a truck that is a bit more beastly for approximately $20,000 less. And I might not be accurate on the cost but it will be significant!

Or maybe you’re saying that there’s a good chance I would trade in for a raptor. Well, when that style grows on me you might have a good point lol

Thoughts?

Sadly I thought the 5G Raptor which I don't think you ever saw stateside looked better than the current 6G model, it actually used a wider chassis and completely different panels. But the 6G has a much nicer engine.

you know I thought I had seen it, and I did love it so your assumption actually was correct I just wasn’t certain! So 100% agreed!

And that’s what I love is the wider panels on the Raptors… F150 as well obviously

They also put on fender flares and so I’m hoping it gives it a little bit of that feel. I’m not gonna put on enormous ones but I’m definitely interested in RTR or Roush.

I think air designs only makes it for the newest model, and that really sucks because I love how they tie it into the bumper… Well it’s more of just a front fascia!

Lol, we have a true steel bumper, which I learned when I unbolted it by myself to put in the little 6 inch LED light pairs, and absolutely was shocked at the weight ??

That’s sad… I shouldn’t be shocked at that!

it did make me feel quite safe though!

Bought my Ranger last August with a heloc then sold my 2004 F250 Lariat 6.0 liter later. Had that truck since 2016 and loved it but our trailer is only 4100 GVWR and I just couldn't justify a diesel any longer. Love the Ranger but I do miss the bed space. I will get over it! ?
