I tried dialing it when it first came out with my old area code (413) back in MA. and it was a non working number there. lol

I remember a local radio station saying there was someone who had that number (can't remember the city) and they were inundated with phone calls asking for Jenny.

"Jenny (867-5309)" caused nothing but grief for telephone customers unlucky enough to have that combination of numbers as their own. Its relentless chorus, "Jenny don't change your number — eight six seven five three oh nah-eeh-ah-ine," pounded the phone number into the minds of teenagers everywhere, resulting in waves of kids dialing it and asking for Jenny. Actually they both premiered in 1965. Green Acres on 09/15 and Get Smart on 09/18. I think both ran into 1970 or so.

We had an 867 exchange where we lived.in our area of St. Louis. It was a live number here.
