Took the mini Ranger out for a drive.

Thing 1 is learning how to drive, so we use the mini Ranger as a visual aid when talking about driving concepts.

It was the first time out on the roads (instead of just the parking lot) in a regular vehicle without a second set of controls. Originally was just going to do the country roads part, but ended up doing the whole trip home, including some major city streets.
Good going dad! There's nothing like really world experience to teach them and give them confidence. You can only teach people so much in a classroom and OTJ training is the best training there is.

Make it move with the GPS map 😲 as you go down the road.

Phil, Tito got out again and I found him out in my back patio going at it with one of my Crocks. What are you feeding him lately?

Species misidentification! 😂 Idaho Fish and Game did that with a grizzly last fall. Told a hunter it was a black bear on his game camera. Oops!! 😂 Hard to press poaching charges when they gave him the green light!! 😏 And we have to pass a bear identification test to get a bear tag! 😂

Now I don't have any spinners but Today marks 7 years since I brought the Ranger home. 27,000 miles and a couple warranty repairs, 3, she's just like new, well sort of but I still love this truck.

I celebrated a milestone with my Ranger today. I glanced down at the instrument cluster while stopped at a light this morning and there it was.

I think I’ll treat it to a nice application of Duke’s 404 Graphene Detail Spray.

And just look at that sweet XLT cluster! Nice.

My daughter's initial driving lessons back when I had my '94 F250 IDI Turbo Diesel were fun. 5 spd in the woods was fun. We did some roads when she had her permit but she had one experience on a slight hill with the manual with some hag behind us being impatient that ruined it for her. Dad used some Idaho sign language through the back window of the truck to let said hag know that was enough! She spent the rest of her time learning in the wife's Jeep Cherokee that became the daughter's when she needed a car in college. Sadly that was the last manual for us since they just are not available in the trucks I need now. I would love to get another 70's F250 highboy or an old Willys Jeep to bounce around in the mountains with. Neither is in the budget though. :frown:

I just keep this on my phone for easy sign language use.

Even better if you have an iPad with you. 😁

Ranger made a trip to Silver City, Idaho a mining ghost town in the Owyhee mountains. The Silver City stretch of HWY 78 starts with 7 miles of paved road then another 15 miles of dirt/gravel road.
