I've got a sick obsession with wiring, so... I started again today.

Step one is undoing all the things you've done.

I made a lot of progress. Another couple hours and I should have it wrapped up. It looks a ton better than it did before and the wires are all the right length instead of 10 extra feet.
Step one is admitting you have a problem....

I do this frequently myself....I always comeback to my wiring and ask my self "what was I thinking"

I've rewired this truck 4 times now. Each time I've learned something and it get a lot better. This time was all about running the wires where I want and cleaning up excess wiring. I would have loved to 'do it right the first time' but I didn't know how to do it right. I knew how to do it safe, but not how to make it super pretty.

Yep, every time I do it I make it better each time as well. Good work!

So hard to do it right the first time. Custom wiring for accessories always requires a revisit after the excitement of said accessories wears off.

my last truck eventually had an aftermarket fuse box for all the add ons and all the wires in one loom.

The PowerSwitch made a huge difference in wiring. Eventually I will get a second one to increase the available switches available. I can mount it at the back of the truck and wire all my camp lights to it.

Installed a B&M diff cover today. Got a killer deal on it since the power coat was grey instead of black. Installed a new gasket and 1.5 quarts of valvoline 75w-90. The cover is made for Jeeps but fits our Dana 44 perfectly. Only issue is when using the top fill area, you need to use a 10mm socket to move the hard brake line mounting bracket. Zero drips and zero noise. Rear diff lock engages and works as should. Probably a useless upgrade, but looks cool. ??

the OEM drains from in front of the differential. The rear cover drain is just an “extra.”

Thank goodness OEM drain plugs are common now. I remember the cover pop every fill. What a pain.

I am wired up with all my accessories. Some are on the PowerSwitch and others are on switched power. I have one DRL backlight that is not working. Not sure what happened as it worked before I rerouted the wiring. I don't have the time or the energy to dig into it right now, so... I just have them off right now.

The wiring looks immaculate until it gets to the connections. If you're a wiring guru and know how to make it not look like a plate of spaghetti, I'm all ears. I am going to buy a new trim piece (since I hacked mine for an earlier version) but its $120 and it can wait... I still need to wire up the winch, but the wire crimpers for that are huge and I need a second set of hands.

My winch used to have the dial switch mounted to the fuse block cover, so... I replaced it. That only cost $28 shipped from @LevittownFordParts.com. As you can see, its the only clean part under the hood.

Yeah but you have to lay in there waiting and that gets kinda tedious.
A good stakeout is always fun! I just bring a couple beers and some beef jerky. Maybe watch a movie on my iPad lol
