What did you do to your Ranger today?

Got the black bezel cover for the rear camera/logo on the tailgate, so I spent time re-doing the Plasti-Dip black application to the rear logo, the fender vents and the front grill. All the prep time is worth every second because once it's done, peel all the tape and protection away and it's got that black/blue look to it.

You know the rules, pics or it didn't happen. ?

My Focus I believe has the same battery as my Ranger (XLT non-Tremor) and I've had to replace it about every 4 years, just did it for the second time this last summer.

Finally got around to installation of my extended dipstick.

Along with the ppe pan, it made changing transmission fluid much simpler and neater than the first time. The included funnel worked great.

Not sure how you would be able to get the fluid to 200+ to check per manual though. Best i could do was 186 after idling in the barn for 30 min. Tried driving but it actually dropped to 174. I guess the fins on the pan must do something especially with as cold as it was outside.

Try driving it in 6th gear and between 65-70 mph for about 15 minutes on the expressway. That equates to around 3600-3800 engine rpm. It should heat up to the 205+ range. Always works for me

One you-tube video I watched the guy torque braked it in gear (on a lift) on and off several times to reach operating temp.

I forgot to take pictures, was feeling sick but wanted to get it done earlier this week when it was warmer.

Decided to do my own oil change after having some headaches dealing with the nearest dealership service center. Just about to hit 30k miles so I decided to change out my intake filter and do spark plugs as well.

I go to remove the skid plate and it appears I'm missing two bolts of the 4 holding the skid plate. Luckily I had spare hardware from RCI. When I was putting it back in I realized they actually broke one of the bolts off and didn't mention it and lost the other one. Glad I'm not going back.

Anyway, everything else went good. For the oil change i went full synthetic. Spilled a bit of oil when changing the oil filter. Added a Votex oil drain plug with a valve and hose so I won't have the drop the skid plate next time. I went with NGK Ruthenium Spark Plugs (+1 Step Colder) based on some recommendations.

I have had no transmission issues but I am considering doing a transmission service by 35k miles. PPE Pan, Fitz Dipstick (waiting on that restock), fluid and filter.

Last night I pulled my OEM plastic bedliner.
Today my bed was spayed with Line X.
A truly phenomenal finish.
For me, money well spent.

Started the interior build out of my camper. Tomorrow I'll finish the rails between the ribs, and Saturday I'll do the plywood and carpet. Eventually it will have a U-shaped bench like a dinette booth. With the roof moved forward over the cab and the tent popped up, there is 8.5 feet of head room, so it's not like a typical topper. Hence the bed rail height.

Updated today, framing is done. Now just need to install the plywood and carpet. The top panels will be hinged laterally so they can be easily opened from in or outside the truck.

To add to my Line X which was sprayed in yesterday, I bolted in two swing out tool boxes today.
Gotta keep my back seat area clean which always seems to collect this or that…

Hoping tonneau clamps will clear the tool boxes…
