as a follow up to this -

cylinder 1 & 2 - I pulled the plugs just to take a peak the boots were rust colored so I took a gander down the plug hole and both were filled with water and debris . . . absorbed the water with paper towels and blew them out with compressed air. . .

new plugs arrive tomorrow . . .

It should also be noted, I have never been through water deeper than a few inches.

The mall parking lots usually have good drainage.

Looks like a lot of mud on those boots and that one plug. Also, if those are #1 and#2, you must park outside and nose down.

That's what I'm looking at! The first plug you showed, that's not rust on the porcelain that's dirt.

I believe it is debris from the plug. The metal below the porcelain has no sharp edges and was all but crumbling in my hand when it came out. It could be some dirt, but it was chunks. I would expect mud from the fine dust of south florida and forest service roads in Colorado, but not chunks of crap...

Both of the plugs are the same one is before I wiped it down and one after...

That line along the porcelain looks like rust stains, not the typical scorch marks on plugs...

Yeah, I was really surprised because I'm not even at 30k miles.

That's Florida left over in there... I've been through water to the headlights and my engine bay looks a helluva lot dirtier than that and my plugs, boots, holes (ew) were clean.

I changed my oil and filter after a 5K mile interval. The minder said I had 47% left. No thanks. I also installed the Valvomax.

Whoever suggested I use magnets to close up the oil filter flap, thank you. It's working out great.

What magnets are you using to hold the liner? I put strong magnets on my filter but I don't think they're strong enough to hold the liner up.

Toyota bump stops will fix these issues.

Since Ford cheeped out and eliminated the Owners Manual folder, we had plenty of extra old VW ones here at work so I improvised. Now I can keep it nice and neat in my truck, instead of "somewhere" in the house lol. :like:

Update: We are currently doing inventory here at work and we found a bunch of old vehicle owners manuals that, for whatever reason, weren't with the car when they left. And wouldn'tcha know, there was a Ford one so now I have a proper holder for my manual, all is right in the world now lol. :like:
