I had recently put Wildpeaks on the Ranger and the old rubber had uneven wear so decided to use my 43k pass points and had an alignment done at Western Slope Ford in Grand Junction, CO. Other than warranty work I've never had work done at a dealer. I was impressed, people were polite, truck was done on time , the service writer put down that I had to buy new tires because the alignment was off - I hadn't said that, just that the old tires wore unevenly (minor), they did the routine inspection and found nothing and didn't try to sell me anything - no filters, no wiper blades, nada. Body is so riddled with arthritis might be time to let shops service the Ranger and not entirely opposed to paying extra at a shop where every employee was courteous. And I still have some Ford points left. I didn't notice Rangers on the lot but saw plenty of F-150s and Broncos.
There comes a time when we all have to give it up. Not there yet, but I am real close to 70 now.. Time to start collecting SS. I'm waiting as long as legally possible.

Topped off, we'll see, haven't seen any white exhaust at idle. Dipstick doesn't smell sweet or "antifreezy" and my oil separator is still basically empty. Hopefully just burped an air bubble.

I just drove 3,750 miles from Tucson to Portland and back to have this Super Pacific X1 pop-up tent camper installed. Great trip! Drove mostly 2 lane secondary roads, passed through AZ, NV, OR, WA, ID, MT, and WY. Four hotels and 9 nights in the camper. $767 in gas, averaged 19.5 mpg. Truck handled it all great, even four wheeled for the first time on a one lane dirt track over the continental divide.

Changed the oil and installed a K&N air filter.
Walmart.com had the best price for the K&N at $51.99 and free shipping
I learned a while ago that the FL-400S oil filter is bigger and fits right on in place of the FL-910S. Today I got the Mobil 1 equivalent M1-209. Since Walmart doubled the price of Motorcraft I figure I might as well get the Mobil 1 for $3 more.
Valvoline Advanced Synthetic 5w-30.
Have 80k on it now.

Well changed the oil. Did some looking around underneath the truck, frame has mud in it! Parts of it anyway. Got what i could out. Then saw this! An oil leak! Not from the valve cover. Somewhere near the front towards the top, saw some turbo lines wet, so i dont know. Have to wash it down brake clean and see where its coming from and repair it :( only 2 years and 50k miles. Wifes mazda 76k 2017 no leaks. Oh well. Everything else looked good.
Oh almost forgot. With all the mud everywhere in the frame, i saw a big gap in the transmission bell housing! What on earth!?! Oh well, that doesnt make too much sense. No more rubber plugs at the bottom i guess. Oh well. Still a good truck. Just wish the oil leaks would have started later in its life.

It looks it's missing a bolt on that cover, causing the gap that you see.

Unless you have oil dripping on your driveway, it doesn't appear to me that you have a leak?

Well, its like the wet on the bottom of a diff. You can see the oil, tell its not sealed, but it never drips. Like a weeping leak. Thats what this is. Like an old fashioned motor with the oil crust around the oil pan. Yes its a leak. Just not a dripoing one. Gonna wash it and see where it comes from.

Are you talking about this gap? If so, that's an identifier plate, its just a piece of sheet metal stamped with information held on by that bolt. I'd bet it rotates back into place really easily.

You might be missing a bolt, but I don't see any issues here.

Installed the Ford Performance grille and lower grille insert from Stage 3.

I have the Ford Performance grill but I modified mine. I used the outer surruond from the original Sport package so it still carries the Magnetic color theme of the Sport package. You could say I modified a modification.

Nothing today. Just drove it. Miles of smiles

Look at this!!! S*#%balls! It has always said change oil in 10k! I have been towing a lot near max lately, changing my oil at every 5k, so maybe now its telling me to do it as well? Does the computer programing ai see that it needs changing too? Did not think that algorithm actually worked!

I changed my oil yesterday...The first time in decades and it felt good...manly, macho, hair on my arms type of feeling. I ate some spinach after.
