It looks great! I love Mr. Pink and the two-bucket method always gets better results. But I'm pretty lazy - some times I only soap cannon and rinse! =O

Last time I was a little more motivated but only a single bucket with grate and a mitt-on-a-stick.

But that does miss spots that I tend to then do with a small microfiber. It would probably be less work if I just did your two-bucket way!

Anyway ... your truck looks great! Plus it's a SuperCab, so ... you know ... it always looks better anyway! ;)
Thanks David. I'm sure 'Soupie' needs a lot of special care after those treacherous dump runs!

Thanks for the details and sharing your experience. I've only used 303 Graphene (because @AzScorpion!). =p

The last wax I ever used was in the '80 and it was Turtle Wax in a metal can! =D

I love how easy graphene is to use and buff off and it has plenty of shine for me. BUT ... I don't know any different.

I watch videos but I always suspect some level of promotion, so reading about your use if far more appreciated (and believed!).

Thanks, your truck really looks fantastic! =)

I've never looked to see if I have plug water. I have the cover, more out of want than need, and also to make a nice mouse home!

But what I do is open the hood from time to time and blow out the engine at 90 psi and try to get under the cover to blast away nut shells and maybe water. Although it's kind of deep on that back plug and I doubt the air reaches it too well.

Of course, I then follow up with liberal squirts of peppermint oil, so if water's not pooling there, the peppermint probably is!
I used my leaf blower to blow out any remaining water. How much got into the well I don't know.

I had this same crap on my F150 but that had an engine cover, so the cover would end up acting as a tub for the water to fill up. Ford needs to stop this 2-piece cowl BS or stop being stupid about it.

I'm debating if I should waste my time with the phone call battle with dealerships trying to get a cover for free, or if I should just look at that aftermarket unit. It seems cheaper than trying to find an OEM in stock.

For now I ordered a u-shape style seal to shove over the cowl edge. See how that goes.
Don't want to out-right seal the two edges cause the water will need to go somewhere otherwise it'll just rust out my cowl area.
I didn't bother going to the dealer and having to put up with the excuses and the drama. Found one of the few remaining original OEM covers from a Ford Dealer in TN in Aug. of 22 and ordered it with the hardware. $99.28 out the door.

I agree...don't pay much attention to any reviews that are selling the product.

The saber paint is one of them colors I love to look at, but wouldn't want to own.
Weird I know, but that's how I feel about it.

Also, your shorts are too big.
Deep down in I was reluctant about the Saber color too. But when I saw that a local dealer had this one pre-ordered...I couldn't resist so went in the next day and put a deposit on it while it was still being assembled at the factory. Figured I could get the deposit back if I didn't like it after it came in. After the fact absolutely no regrets. One advantage I like about the Saber is that is doesn't show dirt and doesn't need washing that often.

Thanks David. I'm sure 'Soupie' needs a lot of special care after those treacherous dump runs!

I need to muster up the courage to try clay barring. Not only do I get sap on the bed rails from dump runs with brush. But I also park under a giant red oak that has tiny drops of something. Sap I assume. I can't see it with my eye but I can feel these tiny bumps. Kate gets them if her car is out (super rare, most neighbors probably think we divorced since her car's never out), but she does such a thorough detailing job that she keeps them off.

I guess a clay bar would get that off. Since I always park outside, my motivation is low to get that off. Maybe it'll form a protective layer!

David @subquark maybe start with a clay mitt before the clay bar.

Clay barring is a safe way to get out any paint blemishes. I don't clay bar the whole paint area before waxing but only do the rough spots after running my fingers over the paint for distortions. I picked up some bugs on a previous trip in 2022 and tried tar and bug remover and it only partially removed the mess. So, I followed with clay bar and it sucessfully removed everything and left the surface in perfect condition! The bugs are pretty noticeable on the deflector and the Ford icons.

Yikes and Wow!

That sold me. Kate and I will put together a 303 order this weekend (funny the things that we can find fun) and that clay mitt is on there. @AzScorpion's been working on me to try a clay bar and your pics pushed me finally did it.

Kate has some tough bugs on her white car that never fully come off, I bet your technique clears them up!

Thanks and perfect before and after pics. =)

The clay mitts are really easy to use and do a good job.

LOL Steve! You must be one of @AzScorpion's sales associates! =D

These guys showed up one day wanting to know if I use 303 products ...

1688140325999.webp
They showed up at my house too and demanded to look at my car detailing products. They were undercover from Meguiar's and left without incident after finding I had no 303 goods! :whew: They asked how to get in touch with Dave @AzScorpion

WOW! I haven't seen bugs like that since I drove through Texas farmland several years ago in June!
