What did you do to your Ranger today?

I just ordered one from my local dealership today. Thinking I might brave the install on my own. Have you had a chance to use it yet? Curious about how you change from proportional mode to driver control mode. My previous proportional controller had a brake strength adjustment knob but I could not switch between different control modes. Unless I am totally confused here, I don't think the proportional control will be ideal for offroad trailering.

I haven’t used it yet but reading the manual it seems pretty easy to swap between “automatic” (or proportional) and manual. There’s also a manual gain setting that applies to both for braking types.
For me, integration with ACC and ore-collision braking was the selling point.

Okay cool....glad the manual seems to be clear on how to change modes....totally agree with you that the integration with the vehicle safety systems is a big selling point.

Activated FordPass on my Ranger. Funny the salesman did not mention to me about this feature. Found it out by accident and tried it. Download the App unto my iPhone and created a new account, logged my Ranger and only took about 15 minutes of setup. Now I can remote start, lock and unlock my truck anywhere........lol

Now not sure if thats a good thing..........

Bit of a project today on ranger. I did the original service on this truck before I bought it and I didn't notice the mode door making noise until a few days after I had bought it, everything worked fine but when I shut the truck off I could hear a buzzing noise. Traced it down to the mode door binding plus it was setting a B1086:07 code which is for Air Distribution Damper Motor component fault, which is a bit misleading as the motor works fine but because something was binding it could not move freely.

So while I still had my 60 day warranty I pulled the dash and replaced the whole upper air box assembly. Wasn't a horrible job took right at 4 hours, I was able to get the air box out and back in without evacuating the AC or removing the heater core which saved a bunch of time. Everything back together working great and I can tell a difference when I select full floor mode.

So, as a Ford tech, you got paid to do your own warranty work? It sounds like a dream.

Yes doesn't happen often. Most of the time its more of a nightmare

When I was a service writer, one of my customers needed this operation done on his out-of-warranty work truck down here in the Boca Raton area. After I got the numbers back from the tech, I walked right to the finance office and bought an extended warranty for my Ranger. HAHAHAHA

Yeah... Parts internal cost was $250ish retail was over 400 plus labor would have been around 9 hours after diag evac recharge and replacement. I didn't know I could remove it without sucking down the AC and without removing the heater core but once I got the dash out it was cake. But yeah paying out of pocket for this would suck

No kidding! And according to the owner of that truck I wrote, he HAD to get it fixed or get rid of the truck because having functioning HVAC in a company vehicle apparently is an OSHA requirement.! I gotta say, the tech that handled it impressed the hell outa me. He did a quick and clean job of it.

Temporarily mounted my Scan Guage III and went for a ride. Works nice but haven't found an oil pressure Gauge in it yet. Still have to set up the screens.

I had the drop in bed liner replaced with Line-X. I had the same spray bed liner on my old Ram 1500 and loved it. They did a great job of prep work including prepping all the threaded holes before coating. I have a swing box showing up and I thrilled I won’t have to retap those!

One thing I didn’t expect is that the drop in liner had spacers on the tailgate access panel so I need to replace those screws or throw some washers in.
