Hope the new Explorer treats you well Charlie. Who knows the next Gen Ranger (Raptor or PHEV) might make you come back to a truck. At the end of the day it'l all about enjoying what you drive and what suites your needs. Good luck with it and stop back often!Traded it in on an Explorer ST.

It's a bit of a long story.
The 2024 Mustang 500HP announcement caused a reaction in my gut. It's been a couple of years since I had a "fun" car, so I started Mustang shopping. I came REAL close to buying 1, but had 2nd thoughts about the money and dealing with having 2 vehicles. A Mustang GT is not real practical as a sole vehicle, so I would have kept the Ranger.
I started looking at something that would have some power and still be (kind of) practical and the Explorer fit the bill. If the Dodge Durango SRT wasn't so expensive it would have been an easy choice. IMO the Explorer ST is a better vehicle than the Durango RT.
My powerful cars have always been toys, with a daily driver. This will be an interesting experiment!
I will be stopping by to see what you all are up to. And for the record - My Ranger had a tailgate damper, so I was 1 of the cool kids.
PS - You should've taken the damper off and stuck it in the back of the Explorer. Even just thrown on the floor you'd get 5 extra HP. ?
