It's a bit of a long story.

The 2024 Mustang 500HP announcement caused a reaction in my gut. It's been a couple of years since I had a "fun" car, so I started Mustang shopping. I came REAL close to buying 1, but had 2nd thoughts about the money and dealing with having 2 vehicles. A Mustang GT is not real practical as a sole vehicle, so I would have kept the Ranger.

I started looking at something that would have some power and still be (kind of) practical and the Explorer fit the bill. If the Dodge Durango SRT wasn't so expensive it would have been an easy choice. IMO the Explorer ST is a better vehicle than the Durango RT.

My powerful cars have always been toys, with a daily driver. This will be an interesting experiment!

I will be stopping by to see what you all are up to. And for the record - My Ranger had a tailgate damper, so I was 1 of the cool kids.
Hope the new Explorer treats you well Charlie. Who knows the next Gen Ranger (Raptor or PHEV) might make you come back to a truck. At the end of the day it'l all about enjoying what you drive and what suites your needs. Good luck with it and stop back often!

PS - You should've taken the damper off and stuck it in the back of the Explorer. Even just thrown on the floor you'd get 5 extra HP. ?

So I'm curious as to the off-road capabilities of the Explorer. I hate that the only real choices seem to be expensive Toyotas, Lexus', or old high mileage of both brands still priced dumb.

How much lift can the new explorers take, or does anyone even make anything worthwhile?

I kinda dig the timberline, but I know Im going to need more clearance if it was going to do anything beyond service roads.

Eibach Pro truck Stage 2 Leveling Kit (Didn't get install photos but here are the goods):

Also hard wired in my Uniden R3:

Got an oil change slated before taking the truck back to Colorado (shifting over to Pennzoil Platnium and away from the Motorcraft Syn-Blend)

Overall a productive trip to see the family

Where did you order the grille from? I am on the hunt for the exact same one! Thanks,

I can't say specifically unfortunately..... Bought it from a guy on one of the Facebook groups for $75. I did however tie the lights into my drl circuit by splicing in off the driver's side turn signal bulb.....

I know Amazon and EBay have grills just like this one. One way to tell its a clone is on a real Ford grill, there usually isn't a black spot between the arms on the F, I.e no continuation of the backing plastic. You can see that on mine. For $75 though, I couldn't complain.
