This weekend I took a leap in tire size from 265/65/18 to 35x12.5R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. These are mounted to stock sport wheels with a 1.5" spacer. A decent amount of trimming has been required so far, as has removing the rear crash bar. I already removed the front crash bar when installing my ARB Summit Bumper. I just took it on a shakedown run this evening and have a bit more trimming to do, but I am optimistic I'll get it to the point that there will be no rubbing when off road.

Priced new tires recently and just about fell out of my chair. The $625 set of 265/70R17 General Grabber tires I installed in 2019 are a whole lot more expensive now. Plus, although they were one of the more aggressive AT tires I could find at the time they didn't hold up to the abuse I put them through. All that considered, I opted to pick up a set of Jeep takeoffs (255/75R17 Firestone Destination M/T2) with under 1k miles on them for $400. They seem to ride decent and not as noisy as other MT tires I've ran in the past, also hard to complain at $560 installed.

These are the lug nuts I use. They match up dimension wise with the OEM nuts. Which is important as most aftermarket nuts do not have the same surface contact area as the OEM nuts do. The tapered section is smaller in outer diameter. Fine for steel wheels not so good with factory alloy wheels.

These are the lugs I purchased as well, installed them today. Really like them so far, will see how they hold up. Truck is now 100% chrome free!

Finally installed my 1” Fabtech wheel spacers this afternoon. Used nickel anti seize on the back of the spacers and a drop of red loctite on the acorn nuts. Torqued to 100lbs per the ford tech yesterday during my oil change. Also took some tips on here and bumped the crashbars out.

I couldn't take looking at the factory wheels/tires any longer (no offence to those that have them:thumbsup:), so I bit the bullet and bought new tires for the FP/ROW Ranger Raptor/Tremor wheels I had put on my truck when I first bought it. I switched to the factory wheels/tires a few months ago when the BFG K02's wore out. I probably could have used them for a few years, but just didn't like the look/size, especially with a level ?. Thanks Discount Tires for the nice price. Was the cheapest I found for the BFG/K02 265/70/17's.

Wasn't doing it for me:

That's more like it:

Now I need to get the factory wheels/tires back into the pole barn when I get home without the wife noticing. She didn't see me put the Raptor/Tremor wheels into the back of the truck last night, or see me leave this morning. ?

That looks great! I just picked up some Tremor take-off wheels and tires and will be installing the Fox leveling kit this week. Since it's all stock I assume everything fit fine for you? Any crash bar trimming/removing?

Thanks Jake. No trimming needed with the 2" level and 265/70/17's.

Why are you guys wasting your time with those tiny little things when you could make a real statement with these??
