After a long hiatus I’m back to doing mods. This past week I added AFN 5th Gen frame mounted rock sliders/steps.

These were a bit of a challenge to install on the drivers side due to proximity to the gas tank and brake lines, but the look and feel very sturdy. We’ll see how they hold up soon I hope.

AFN has unfortunately discontinued Ranger gen5 gear to focus on gen6. I got these on a clearance sale, specifically because they are combo steps/sliders.

Replaced the mishimoto catch can outlet hose. I'm going to look into some steel braided lines, in hopes of not having to do this every year. It's only been 10 months and that line split. Heard a whooshing sound when I would get on the gas, last night. Found that when I got home.

Changed the oil and rotated the tires. Super exciting. Made an appointment at the dealership for an alignment check and battery check. Keep getting “deep sleep” notifications and the Auto Start/Stop page on the DIC always says “Veh. Charging”.

So this is for the bolt on crowd and nay sayers. I've been saying from the beginning that bronco is in all practicality a Over seas ranger raptor. It takes same track width. Yea there are a few minor changes, but geometry it's all the same. I had gone to a local dealership while having my company vehicle serviced went and took loads and loads of measurements. Also found out that the fx4 has 2 different styles of knuckles either cast steel or aluminum. I've got aluminum. Anyways everything I had been saying is quite true. Top hat for front shock bucket is 2 inches taller so in theory you can get stock bronco sasquatch shocks and it would level out a ranger and it would do so without preloading the coils. I ended up finding a set of non sasquatch( same height just not bilestein) front bronco coilovers and control arms dirt cheap. So as I had been saying bronco stuff will swap over it will give us more track width, travel and the ability to run m210 front differential and locker.

I've been slowly getting rid of the chrome on my L. Blue Lariat. Replaced the side emblems with the black vented inserts from Ford Performance, have the raptor grill. Only thing left is the ecoboost badge. Puth this on yesterday....quick 10min job!

Edit: The lettering and accents look chrome in the picture but it is actually a grey/smoked color. In person looks like this.

Where did you find this and cost? I've looked but everything that is usually blacked out still has chrome. I love that chrome is replaced by grey in this.

I'm not at home and cant get you the package number but it's OEM and called "smoked chrome" emblem kit. Comes with the pieces shown below. There's the rear camera housing in black with both a front and rear emblem included.

Do a search for "Ford Ranger smoked chrome"...you'll easily find it. Here is a better look at the kit. It gets rid of that shiny silver chrome with a darker grey brushed look. Just make sure it's the smoked one because there's also a black and "normal/shiny" chrome kit too.
