What did you do to your Ranger today?

How was the install? Did you loosen the front bumper?

These are next on my list to do.

I sawed them out .. fronts did not take long at all. Get good sawall blades. Rear are a challenge, not as much room to cut and difficult getting one bolt out.

Installed the Velossa big mouth. I think it is super cool, even if it doesn't do anything. But surely it helps funnel more air to the intake. Either way it is fun.

I did "port match" the plastic radiator cover.

Now I want the Mishimoto intake.... Slippery slope.

I noticed a small gas mileage increase after installing big mouth.

I used a Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hackzall with the Diablo heavy metal blades 4” and 6” . The only real challenge was trying to get the plastic block out to clear the one bolt for the rear bar. After unbolting things for a hour, i could not get it out, so I used a plastic blade and a Drexel tool to just remove just enough plastic to get the bolt out, still had to wiggle and twist it to get it out. The 2nd side was much faster.

I had a recip saw and about $200 worth of premium blades on hand after reading about the joy of the cutting process. But that was my plan B if unbolting things didn't work. I ended up not needing to cut anything at all and slid them out. It really helps to have a friend to hold the bumper at a few points during the process though (so you can gain enough clearance without removing it). Those plastic crash blocks are the most annoying part (one of the bolts is a little tricky) but just take your time and have patience and they come out no problem!

Yeah I get it. I put the ReadyLift beams in mine and I am a little ocd about keeping stock parts intact. The fender flare/trims don't have to come off to get that 4th bolt in blocks, just the bottom few clips in the inner fender liner so you can (carefully) pull it out enough to get to the bolt.

Spring has definitely sprung!

Just another wash day for the Ranger. The Passat got cleaned up too and the tools in the Ranger’s roof top recovery case came in handy as it was time for the winter/summer wheel and floor mat swap over on the sedan. It was just warm and sunny enough to make it a pleasant task. ?

There was a blue Maverick XLT parked out front and I was tempted to give it a bath too. ?

Finally got around to istalling the Alphrex DLR harness and Diode dynamics SS3 pro fog back light harness. Hooked up the SS3’s to the DLR cause i e notice people dont see an all black truck that well and have almost been hit a few time. And i got a thing about un- loomed wire harnesses. My OCD kicks in wen you pop the hood and see a rainbow of wires exposed.

Got my bedliner sprayed in today. Happy with the results. Now to install all the goodies I have for the bed.
