You know, he could be working on a gen2 tailgate damper. 12v powered to lift the gate because of all the muscle atrophy caused by having a gen1

Drove the XLT to work this morning. Got home and changed the oil and filter. Installed a Valvomax oil drain plug then rotated the tires. 100° outside.......about 135° in the garage! LOL
