When you go to the lower level (at the base of the elevator) to sit there's a small museum by the bookstore along with a film room. There were way to many people in there to get any good pictures and we missed this last year (we took the stairs) but it's a must see when there.

I was able to get this panoramic shot inside.

These are placed all along the lobby.

I took this right at sunset. This new phones camera is awesome and there's so many settings to adjust for lighting on it.

Still pretty good picture for total darkness.

They gradually turn the lights on but when they're fully lit up it white washes their faces.

A couple camera adjustments and zoomed in and it comes out better.

Lastly they have all the Vets come on stage for the Flag lowering. It was nice to see everyone give them a HUGE applause!

That's on our list if the rain holds out tomorrow or Thursday as we're leaving early Friday morning. We're going to go to Cosmos (this place looks fun!) which is in Rapid City and hope to do both.

Looks like fun, reminds me of the Haunted Shack at Knotts Berry Farm. I met Ron Howard there many decades ago when he was a teenager ?

We're getting towards our last 2 days here in SD and today we went to Rapid City. You can do the Presidents Walk which has all the former presidents statues on the street corners on Main St and St. Joseph St which are both one way streets. They're all set up from 4th - 9th streets and if you use this interactive map it'll show your location as you're walking and where all the statues are so you don't miss any of them. There were two missing (Richard Nixon & Andrew Jackson) because they're doing construction on that block. Also 45 wasn't up yet but they said his will be displayed sometime this summer which was a bummer we'll miss it.

There's some cool murals around the downtown area too. The first we saw was at the VFW.

This was a cool old firehouse redone into a brewery now.
