Since that been in Europe since at least 1980 I do not think it is new
Probably a LOT older than that!
True its nowhere near new, but it is certainly as I said...change across the U. S.
No matter... we can still enjoy driving , "in a roundabout way"!

I once had running joke with the proprietor of a local antique store...

When I walked in, I would say to him, What's new?;)
He would always reply... Not a damned thing!

I can easily deal with roundabouts, and even enjoy driving around them.

Is it really important to you that I endorse them as a improvements ?

In an era with no durable ideas, "change for the sake of change" can not be perceived for what it is.
Roundabouts are the latest change... subject to change.
We'll just have to enjoy them while we have them!

Hi Floyd,

I find them useful as long as the people that use a round a bout properly...I am appalled at the folks that do not know how to use them... I remember when freeways were first constructed, there were television ads on how to properly merge into traffic. Nothing about using a round about. I believe they are cost effective and allow a smoother flow of traffic...

BTW I lived in Germany in Trier and we had round a bouts in 1957...

Funny thing, as they take my truck apart I get Ford Pass Alerts. First it was Forward Collision and Park Aid Sensor alerts, I assume they took the bumper off. Today I got a Blind Spot Alert, maybe they took the door off?
I’m in the same boat - I got a hit/run on my rear passenger door and was getting alerts as well about my seat belt restraints and I’m like can’t imagine why??

Eh, I tend to disagree with that.. roundabouts may seem more dangerous because the majority of folks in the states don't know how to drive in them. There's a reason why roundabouts are all over the world instead of intersections. Many people in my area seem to think that a yield sign means go..

Agreed..
We have more and more.
The small ones seem to be no issues but we have some that are larger roundabouts. The one near work I have to lock my brakes weekly in the roundabout. Always someone who wont stop even though they have signs and a giant yield on the road. I usually see them coming because They are not slowing down but sometime I cant see them because this one has several lanes and one might be behind a truck.

Allot of times it is someone on their phone too..

But it has no lines like when there was lights.

To the OP sorry about your truck I know how you feel..
I had a new Ford Focus not even a week and my neighbor hit it. We had a shared garage and my neighbor was backing out and went right down the side of my car with his truck. It did not do a ton of damage but bent both door handles up and they had to replace both doors which was expensive. It ended up on carfax and cost me money when trading it in. It was only cosmetic and everything was replaced with brand new and it was done by Ford but that did not matter. Doesn't say that on carfax.

You may end up having to sue their insurance to get diminished value.
Try to sue or threaten to sue the driver with a lawyer letter, best case their driver runs to carrier freak'n out and they settle.

I didn’t think this deserved it’s own thread, but a Tacoma & I traded a little paint. You should have seen his destroyed plastic front bumper.
