Went up to Cedar Breaks for the day, it's like a mini Bryce Canyon with spectacular views. I took Bobs @Bob902 advice and did the 5 mile hike on South Rim Trail to the arch. I was a great hike with views everywhere and Annie made it all the way to the end but it was a little tough for her going back but she really is a trooper and did it.

What's really cool is you can look at a section from one angle then hike half way around the rim and get a totally different view. There's so many great shots I'm having trouble figuring out which ones to post because there were sun and clouds out today and it changed the colors all throughout the day. Sorry this might be picture heavy.

Good Lord Dave, you are surely gonna cost me a crap load of money. I know that you know that I know that because of the gas prices I'll probably have to sell a kidney to make my trip this fall. And, it's all because of pictures like these.

I so happy you, and Annie are enjoying your adventure.:turkey::turkey::turkey::turkey:

That would work great! :headbang: Don't mind me I'm still half asleep. ?

Right now she could use a large one that does the whole body. lol
I'm just an old southern boy you know. I've heard (but of course never tried it) that copious amounts of Jack Daniels helps with the pain. Like I say I don't know for sure, but hell, it's worth a try.

Oh I've tried it Jim and it works great. Now I'm hooked on it I have to take it everywhere I go, so this comes in handy now. ?

Sorry Jim but look at the bright side.....You can still function on just one kidney. :giggle:

Seriously though if you and your better half are planning a trip out this way let me know. Maybe we can meet up and travel around together and it would be really nice if we both had our Broncos by then.

Thanks Mark! It's been way more fun than I had planned and we're finding different things to do a long the way. Now we both don't want to go back home but it'll be fun planning next years adventure. I'm glad this has given others ideas for their trips and looking forward to others giving us tips for our next vacation.
You DON'T want to go home...from what I can gather, this was taken yesterday...after the parties, they could not salvage it...

Great pictures from your trip Dave. I almost feel like I was there with you guys. I'm worn out just from looking at your pictures. Now I need a nap. Ha Ha.
Thanks Chuck. How do you think I feel? I think I'm going to need another month off just to rest. lol

We started off heading up to Toquerville Falls. It's a waterfall out in the middle of the desert and there's a few pools where you can hang out and swim. We were up there 2 years ago and it's a really cool spot but man has it washed out a lot since then. I turned around about half way (and that was fun) as the trail isn't all that wide and there's huge rocks everywhere. I got to a point where there was a big washout under a ledge and I "think" I could've made it up but there were several big holes in front of the step up and you really needed a little speed to get up the hill to it to bump yourself over it.

We also didn't see anyone out there so like the other day I just don't like doing certain things alone and getting high centered and stuck with no cell service. Of course this was the only spot I forgot to take a picture as I was more concerned on trying to turn around and not go over the edge.

The first part is easy and just a bunch of rocks. I aired down to 21 psi and with the new Eibach it was pretty smooth compared to the the last time when I had the stock Fx4 suspension.

It's hard to see but here there's a large dip on the left side and a huge rock just over the rise. On the far right it's really the best line but you have to hug the side then once at over the top hook left or there's a drop off the right side. Not a cliff or anything but you're still sol if you go over it.

These two weren't to bad as you have to hug the left side on the lower one and the right side on the upper one. Around the corner is where I turned around. Picture this lower one with a good 3' washout under it the whole way across. If I was with someone I would've died it but it wasn't worth getting stuck and having to walk a couple miles back down the hill to call Matts Towing/Recovery. lol

We went back to the room and had lunch and Annie found a museum right around the corner from us. She really loves these and has been a good sport hiking with me so we took a walk over there. I was all the history of the town of Hurricane which I didn't realize there was so much in this little town. It was actually pretty interesting and was nice talking to the lady working there who's family was one of the original settlers of the 11 families that settled here. Everything inside is original and was either hers from her family or donated by others that families had settled here.

Sorry no exciting pictures today you'll have to like history to enjoy these. lol

This is a real wedding cake doing back to 1907. It reminds of the Seinfeld episode where Peterman has the old ancient wedding cake he bought and Elaine eats it. ?

This is a second museum and it was a doctors home and he had one of the first electrocardiographs made for him displayed there.

Very cool
It was and I never realized this small area had so much history in it and talking with someone who's family was part of the original 11 that settled here was really interesting. I had more fun there than I thought I would. Of course now that Annie knows that she'll be dragging me to every one of these from now on. :frown:
