Have done Engineer Pass many times as part of our 4x4 proveout. Got paid to have fun...
Took the Ouray cutoff instead of the Silverton, hair raising cut a sidewall on a new tire had to change it on a shale outcrop, thank to a jeeper for guidance getting the rest of the way down. He said it was the worst he had seen it in ten years. Word to the wise, high clearance vehicles only

That Ouray cutoff is no joke. I was up there last year a lady took here F150 crewcut with 6ft bed (a limo) down that by accident. My group helped her down and lets just say it didn't end well and there was some damage.
