Yes I forgot you guys are coming into summer, we have some whoppers here too every summer, in fact, they seem to be getting worse every year - ?Global Warming. Possibly just climate cycle, no one has lived here long enough with records to know for sure.

But it's safe here now until mi-late October, will be scary then until about Christmas, and then the hailstorm risk goes down a bit, as the tropical monsoon comes south and replaces the storms with mostly wet season rain until late March / April
I'm sure that the CEO's of Insurance companies here start regularly attending church, and praying about the end of September every year. Didn't help them this year, two major floods in three months!

Stay safe!
I'm currently in Denver at the base of the Rockies on the east side. We get frequent hail here this time of year and although it can be heavy in volume it stays rather small. Pea to marble sized. So it's more so an annoyance here.

I grew up about 500 miles east of hear. With time for the storms to develope off the mountains the hail is ridiculous there. Softball sized hailstones were a regular occurrence, and I've heard reports of basketball sized stones out there. In Wichita, where I grew up, the hail could be downright dangerous. Plus out there it was a good sign a tornado might be nearby.

Enjoy your winter!

You probably wouldn't call it winter, sunny and I think max of about 23 Deg C today. We live in from the coast a little bit and back onto the mountains so sometimes gets down to zero occasionally at night with frosts, we have a wood heater we probably use at night for June / July. We are on a few acres so the fuel is free, in fact this summer's storms provided quite a bit with some blown over trees I still haven't cut up yet.

That sounds beautiful. Are the summers that temperate as well?

Whaaaat? Don’t listen to him Dave, keep heading north into God’s country (south if you’re in Detroit) and I’ll buy you the best AAA Alberta beef steak dinner you‘ll ever taste and top it off with an amazing PEI lobster - sorry Rick ( @Trigganometry ), I love MA and ME lobsta, but gotta support my peeps and if I have to drive Dave to my place on Prince Edward Island to get the lobster fresh off the boat, I will. I know a guy. Happy to be your host on your northern border anytime Dave.

That’s cool bro. Lobsta is good as long as you got steamers to go with it! ? Oh a Sam Adams on the side… ?

Absolutely, love me some Sam Adam’s - got turned onto that by my cousin…….from Bawston. ? Love that city! Many trips there.

I have a story about my wife buying a bunch of Martha Stewart studio props in an online auction that involves me making a same-day trip from Toronto to Beverly MA and back. 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. I was so close, I should have gone to Gloucester for fresh lobsta but time didn’t allow. ???? The things we do for love. ?

Ah no, there is always a catch, summer days average in the 30's Celsius and there is usually a week or two around Christmas when it sits around 40, near the coast (we are about 40 kilometres from the beach), its sticky. That's when the rural fire brigade starts to get nervous, sticky means storms, and lightning, which starts fires. We are after all only few hours drive from the Tropic of Capricorn.

The storms as a rule form up further inland, on the farming plains, pick up energy from the hot flat land, travel east, hit the great dividing range - which we back onto, rise, cool slightly , then scream down the range and dump their load! We sometimes get them from the ocean side as well but they're rarely as bad, as they don't pick up as much energy from the water.

I hope you’re able to make the trip. It’s a great place to visit, an even better place to live. It’s a lot like Australia (I’ve been) - every animal here is capable of killing you and we have a bit of a funny accent. ?

Yes I've been there before , visited Ottawa back in 2010 for work. Nice place, food good, beer good, nice people - what more could you ask for. The similarity to here didn't escape me.

Two things disturbed me slightly, the apartment stores seemed to stock nothing but thick coats and snowblowers, and the tap water was cold, really cold. It was only October!

Ah Sam Adams, restored my faith that Americans can actually make good beer when they really try. Yeah and Steamers weren't bad either!

Aint that bad, we're used to it, so doesn't really worry us much other than always trying to find a covered car park from Oct to Jan!
