You need to lawyer-up. I got a guy.
I’ve developed a plan, Duke. I think I can get the bolts off by myself. Turn them counterclockwise, right? Then I’m going to carry it out to my fire pit (with rubber gloves on) and incinerate it. Then I will have my lawyer go after Gemini for false information and pursue lemon law with Ford.

Some kid probably got bonked in the head, and they could make an extra $100 on owners
I would have just taken it off and not posted a picture of it in a forum LOL
You must be relatively new here. This has been a raging debate for numerous years! 😁

No such luck! I was trying to find a new shirt for you Al but we're on vacation so this will have to do. 6 long years and the day has finally come.

Wear it with pride.😜

Sorry, it’s already in the fire pit. It took a very hot fire to melt it.

To be fair all fords had a damper on their tailgates since about 04-05 depending on when that model got redesigned. It was a torsion rod in the tailgate. You just couldn’t see it. But when they were broke on the superduty you really felt that sissy Howie Long step.
Even the ROW Rangers had that torsion bar tailgate assist. @Kristina ’s Wildtrack and her new Raptor both had them.

This debate is so old and freaking STUPID! Dampers, lift assist devices etc. have been in use everywhere for years. Do people take the elevator to get to their 3rd floor hotel room? YES. Do they bother to see where the stairs are? NO? So STFU about the stupid damper already.

Make sure no one sees you or they might call the EPA - gawd knows what kind of nasty planet-destroying carcinogens are in those things. Good call on the rubber gloves. Make sure to encase the ashes in concrete and dump it in Lake Michigan.

Honestly, I actually do look for the stairs and take them whenever I can. I often end up where I need to before the lazy asses on the elevator.
But I like my tailgate damper situation.

I hear you James. Went for a cardio-pulmonary test yesterday - third floor, took the stairs. Sorry, it’s in our office in the building next door, third floor, back down, across the parking lot, back up the stairs, got to my test, a bit short of breath. 😆 Still aced it, because……stairs.
