It looks like I am pretty late for an introduction but here goes anyway. I was in the Navy Seabees. I served in Vietnam for two tours from 66 through 68. I worked as an Equipment Operator sometimes with the Marines, Army and Special Forces in the mountains near Laos. My Battalions main bases were Da Nang and Chu Lai and then at a small camp with a 13 man Seabee Team about 100km Southeast of Saigon during the 68 Tet Offensive. My last year and a half in the Navy was easy duty by Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas, moving nuclear weapons around.

When I park in one, they only have to look at my tag..."GRRUMPY", my silver gray hair and beard, my limp, and my "Steely Eyed Look" and never question me...

Sure there are plenty in here. Thought it’d be nice to open up a thread only for military Veterans and LE. Those who earned the title, not those who call themselves Veterans of whatever they happened to have done in the civilian world.

This is an invite to my brothers and sisters in arms to connect within this ranger5g forum.

Hey Bros and sisters, this Coastie is grateful for your service, too! And before you Grunts, Jarheads, Squids and Chair force start the puddle pirate pile on, ya'll have always been glad to see me when I helped fish your aft outa the drink! And to my squid friends, I was on duty at Yerba Buena when the Enterprise went hard aground for an entire tide cycle south of the SF bay bridge, in front of Gawd and everybody, cuz the skipper refused to surrender the helm to the pilot! Rumor has it he drove a desk in Adak the rest of his career! LOL. All kidding aside I've mad respect for you all. (I'd salute here, but don't want to P i s s off my fellow enlisted.)
